The (21-7) Warriors and the (18-14) Rockets face off for the first time this season in the regional semifinals. Tipoff is at 6:30pm.

 

First ever meeting between the two programs.  I believe I read somewhere Rock is the only 12th region team Danville Christian has yet to play since coming around.  It will be interesting to see if Rock can get adjusted to playing with the length of Ateny on the floor.  Rock is a very physical team with a flamethrower in Walker Craig, and will no doubt make it tough on the Warriors.  I expect a hard fought game, but ultimately think the combo of Mikels and Ateny of the inside will be too much for the Rockets.

I'll stand by Rockcastle but it will require a Herculean effort by Craig. The Rockets will have to be efficient and limit turnovers. I think they play into DCA if they wait out for high-percentage shots so they are going to have to be aggressive and smart at the same time. It is a narrow needle to thread, for sure.

I think an X Factor is here is how aggressive Eli Perez is in on ball defense.  Rock doesn't really have a primary ball handler (Rogers and Leger combo it).  This is something to watch because Perez can absolutely create some havoc for them in the backcourt.

I agree it takes teams time to get used Ateny's length and shot blocking ability.  He takes away a lot of points in the paint.  I go with DCA from that standpoint but Rock does have the best offensive player on the court.  If Craig can get open from outside could be the difference.

He's definitely one of the best.  Once he gets stronger he'll be hard to handle. If you've met his parents and brother Grayson you'll know the potential is there.  He's gone from almost dunking back in the summer to dunking easily with two hands so he's definitely made some strides in that area.

He made one move and all I could do was shake my head and laugh.  I'm going to have to watch that one again.

I agree!  Graham was very impressive for DCA tonight.  He’s going to be a force to be reckoned with for the next few years.

I believe what I heard was Graham Domidion’s stat line tonight was 10 points, 9 assists, 8 rebounds, 4 steals and 0 turnovers. Pretty efficient game for a sophomore in a regional semifinal.
