Beechwood climbs the hill tonight to take on NCC (2/12/26)

NCC showing some improvement lately, is it enough to over take Beechwood?

Who wins?

Beechwood beat NCC by 31 points a month ago. How does that impact this game? 

Was that margin a one off?

Could Beechwood overlook an improving NCC? 

Common recent opponent St. Henry - Beechwood beats the Cru by 5 and NCC bears the Cru by 3. Hmmmm....

I saw the first meeting in person. NCC came out very flat with lots of mistakes and missed shots. There is room for improvement score and game quality wise, but I think Beechwood wins the rematch.

Throw that first game out the window, it will be a whole lot closer game tonight.  I will give Beechwood a slight edge.

Should be a fun game tonight. NCC is improving but they are missing 3 key pieces.

From someone at the game: “No Sandfoss or Bivens for NCC and they are up 2 going into the 4th quarter.”

Beechwood Sophomore Dylan Topmiller shot lights out tonight. Finishing with 32 points. His 8 3’s were too much for the Breds to overcome. Tigers also got offensive support from K. Brockett, 13 points. 

NewCath fought hard and showed a lot of grit being undersized. Breds were led by Jr. Gabe Waggoner with 17 points. His three 3s in the 4th quarter kept the Breds close. Luhn finished with 13 pts and Messmer with 9 pts.

Entertaining high school basketball on the Hill. Although a loss, a much better showing by NewCath compared to the game last month. They face off against Dayton at home on Saturday. Tigers travel to Cooper on Saturday next. 

From Beechwood Boys Basketball/Ross Hart:

Beechwood wins at NCC, 58-55. Sophomore Dylan Topmiller (32pts) hits 8 three pointers, tying Louie Brockhoeft (2/5/88 vs St Henry) for 2nd most in a game in Beechwood Boys Basketball history, and just one behind Tyler Fangman (2/3/11 vs Boone Co). Kingston Brockett finished with 13pts, Knasel 7pts, Yeager 4pts, and Stiles 2pts. Credit Kevin Dallas for the stats.

And wow, a Louie Brockhoeft mention, Brockhoeft was an amazing athlete for Beechwood.

Maybe the change in the line up was good, seems to be working.

Sandfoss and Bivens are both out injured and unlikely to return for the remainder of the season.

I know that and NCC is playing their best currently, so I'm say maybe the line up change was for the best.

Dylan is a beast! Been watching him the last 2 AAU seasons and he is something special.
