Rose Hill 74 LCA 71

Featured Replies

I know that Chad and Dakota are two great young guns in that freshman class, what about the other grshman and sophomores, any of them showing promise for the future. I heard that Coach fraley was going to start playing some of them more to get them experience for the tourney time to just spill the stars so they won't be too tired down the stretch. How do these guys look.

Good job and good win for the 16th!!

Did anyone watch the JV game? LCa has some very nice players coming up. The LCA JV jumped out to a 37-6 lead through just over midway in the 2nd quarter. I was very impressed with LCA's JV squad. I couldn't stay for the varsity, does any of the JV kids play much for the varsity team? I thought with LCA making the long trip and arriving 30 min late that they would come out flat but it was just the opposite, they were on fire. They hit 2 straight 3's to start the game and never looked back. I was very impressed with them.

I was also very impressed with the officials for the JV game.:D :D They were excellant!!!!!!:D :sssh:

I do stand corrected on my earlier post, Rose Hill did outscore LCA in the third quarter. 1st Quarter Rose Hill 25 LCA 18, Second Quarter LCA 17 Rose Hill 16 (Half time Rose Hill 41 LCA 35), third quarter Rose Hill 16 LCA 10 (end of 3rd Rose Hill 57 LCA 45), fourth quarter LCA 26 Rose Hill 17 (final Rose Hill 74 LCA 71). Next up for eagles Frankfort on Tuesday night.

LCA is a lot better than their record indicates. They've played Lafayette, Lexington Catholic and Dunbar to within single digits, and made Tates Creek break a sweat to pull out a win. There are maybe three other regions in the state where LCA's record would be as is, and about 12 regions where they'd be one of the better teams.

The competition level and intensity of this game was high, but I was very impressed with the conduct and sportsmanship displayed by the LCA coaches, players and fans. No whining, no excuses... absolutely top notch. :thumb:

Everyone talks about how RH is young, they started an (8th grader, 2 freshmen, a sophomore and two juniors) but LCA is young too, (they started only one senior.) It wouldn't surprise me if LCA pulls an upset in the 43rd District and earns a trip to the 11th Region tourney this season. I will be surprised if they don't earn it outright next season.

Great game! I know the Hill is looking forward to playing LCA at LCA next season. :thumb:

Rose Hill has the advantage of starting 6 players.

Fastbreak is dead on about the class of LCA.

That's what I get for posting before the coffee kicked in...

Allow me to correct that to "RH is young, they started an 8th grader, 2 freshmen, a sophomore and a junior."

It's rough enough realizing that one has aged to the point of being a trusted chaperone, rather than being one young and energetic enough to require a chaperone.

It was a late night...

Congrats to the Royals. Its always a good win when you get a victory over a non-16th region team. It looks like RH and LCA will have a very competitive, but friendly, rivalry over the next few years.

I didn't get to tell you but Fastbreak Jr. cleans up pretty good. It is a good thing he takes after Mrs. Fastbreak.:D

This could be a fine rivalry for both schools. Hopefully, both will nurture it in the coming years. LCA will soon "outgrow" Rose Hill but it is a nice matchup for now.

I wish I could argue with you... but you're absolutely right... and they can count better than me too...

Truth be known, they're the ones that actually put the "fast" in Fastbreak...

"Young" Shooter was quite stunning as well... amazing the difference between an evening gown and a girl's basketball uniform. :thumb:

Which were you wearing?

I will agree with shooter FB jr. was lookin good yesterday. How was the Hibatchi?

After a good, clean, hardnosed play resulted in an injury to a Rose Hill player, several of the LCA players came to the Rose Hill bench to extend their hands to this player. Good to see sportsmanship openly displayed in such a close game. Good example for all of the young eyes that were watching.

This type of game is what makes high scool sports fun to watch. Good competition, good sportsmanship, fans supporting there teams, no significant negative banter directed toward the courts, etc.

Congratulations to both teams who came out and gave their best effort in this game. Nothing to be ashamed of for either team.

Good win for the Royals. Great confidence builder with tourney time coming up.
