Keeping this thread up to date:

Elder beat East Central (IN), 42-7.

I think these guys are looking at another 10-0 regular season. Maybe Moeller can get them, but I think that is unlikely.

I don't know anything about Chatard and after watching Highlands last night I certainly can't dismiss their chances.

Wonder if Elder will vacate any wins over using an ineligible player?

One would think the OHSAA would release that information at the same as the denial announcement but to your point, who knows.

That's a massive blow for their title hopes. That guy is a major issue for high school secondaries.

I don't think there is any issue of ineligibility, per se. Reading the article, it says "According to OHSAA transfer rules, players who transfer become ineligible after 50 percent of the season, if they participated in that sport over the last 12 months."

Elder has played 5 of their regular season games, equating to 50% of their season. So that means, per OHSAA rules, Lyman will be sitting for the rest of the season. His family appealed the decision by the OHSAA and their appeal was denied, so evidently they're looking into getting the court system involved now.

From WCPO 9 in Cincinnati:

JUST IN: Elder senior wide receiver Andrew Lyman will suit up for the Panthers on Friday against St. Xavier after a judge issued him a temporary restraining order following the Ohio High School Athletic Association's ruling that he was ineligible to play the rest of the season.

It's been LI years since I took Latin, but I think GCL translates as Anything Can Happen.

Cincinnati St. X is Elder's Kryptonite. Knocked them out of playoffs last year and gives them first loss this season.
