Based on that schedule, I assume they are not competing in a district again this season?

Correct. They'll be back in 4A district play under the 2027-2028 alignment.

4A District 7: Grant County, Harrison County, Highlands, Holmes, Mason County

Has Holmes ever been good at football. Seems like a few years ago they were really good at basketball.

Holmes had a winning season in 2022; 8-3 in 2021; 7-3 in 2020; 8-4 in 2019 and won a playoff game.

In basketball, for 45+ years up to around 2015, Holmes was one of the best basketball teams in N Ky and the entire state.

1995 they were really good. They gave a Highlands team with Matthew Mason and Justin Frisk a challenge in the playoffs. I believe that they ran what I would call a triple option (probably a wing T someone can correct me). They had really good QB and RB one two punch.
