I think it would be huge for the Broncos to keep it the rest of the half and even if they just come away with 3 as the Patriots get the ball to start the 2nd half.

Agree on not taking the easy points. Why?

I probably would have kicked but I certainly would not have run the play the Pats ran.  I don't know what that was and the two DLs looked unblocked.

Frederick Douglass alum Dane Key's brother Devon Key on the tackle for the Broncos forcing the Patriots to punt again after only 1 first down.

To me it feels like the game totally turned after the Broncos not taking the FG to go up 10-0 and turning it over on downs.

I think the go for it on 4th stats need closer inspection. My guess is the percent of successful conversions is well below 50% against better defenses.

The other analysis I would like to see is value of going for it when inside the 30. If you do convert it at the 30, how often does a team turn that into a TD?

Overall, I am not a fan for going for it on 4th down.

It would be huge for both the Broncos and for Stidham's confidence to get points here before the half. That was a big first down pickup.

Also, if you feel you cannot pickup and half yard running the ball then should for sure kick the FG.

I would get Stiddy out in space and let him use his legs. Many don’t know he was the top dual-threat QB coming out of high school ahead of the likes of Lamar Jackson and Kyler Murray.

My goodness the Denver oline is not blocking at all to get sacked in about 2 seconds only rushing 4.

The problem with the “analytics” is that it doesn’t always take into consideration situation, game magnitude, the players involved, momentum, etc. Conventional wisdom should tell you that when you have a backup QB at the helm, points are a premium, so you take them when you have a chance.

Agree.

Overall, I am not a fan of going for it on 4th down. It has to be the right situation.

I’m already tired of the Uber Eats commercial.

The Broncos miss from 54 yards and they have the ball at their own 44. They now with about 15 to 20 yards give the Patriots a shot at 3.

The Patriots will try a 63-yard FG to end the half and it is no good and is tied at 7 at the half.

Perfect timing just went and fixed myself a big deli sandwich and just sent back down.
