DevilMayCare Posted December 7, 2025 Posted December 7, 2025 🏆State Championships🏆 Evan Hampton (RB, Owensboro) ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 🗞️ | State title ✔️. Finals MVP ✔️. 2,000 yards ✔️. It may be time to give the Devil his due. Hampton closed out his high school career on a high note, running for three touchdowns against Pulaski County to deliver Owensboro's first championship in almost forty years. He totaled 734 yards from scrimmage and twelve touchdowns combined in the quarterfinal, semifinal, and final rounds of the playoffs. The Mr. Football picture was murky to begin the season, but Hampton has done his best to make it clear as day with every churn of his legs down the stretch. Pulaski County High School.mp4 2025 Season: 173 carries for 2,018 yards and 31 touchdowns | 288 receiving yards and 3 touchdowns Ji’Dyn Smith-Hisel (RB, Boyle County) ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 🗞️ | Boyle’s mighty mouse donned the cape one last time to help secure the school's thirteenth state title, running for 183 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 29 carries. Smith-Hisel shouldered a heavy post-season load with 80 rushes totaling 786 yards over the final three rounds, a workhorse effort to cap one of the most productive seasons ever by a Rebel running back. 2025 Season: 215 carries for 1,791 yards and 18 touchdowns | 229 receiving yards and 1 touchdown Miles Edge (RB/LB, Owensboro Catholic) ⭐ 🗞️ | For as quickly as he climbed the ladder in recent weeks, Edge's season met an abrupt, anticlimactic end. He managed three touches for five yards against LCA before exiting the game in the first quarter with an apparent upper body injury and never returned. 2025 Season: 173 carries for 1,222 yards and 20 touchdowns | 40 receptions for 442 yards and 4 touchdowns | 101 tackles | 14.5 TFL | 5.5 sacks | 3 forced fumbles Others For Consideration Jacob Savage (RB/LB, Ryle) 🗞️ | If anyone is going to steal Hampton’s late season shine, it's the state's best two-way player. His grip on Mr. Football was tightening before injuring an ankle against Frederick Douglass, opening the door for someone to walk through. 2025 Season: 163 carries for 1,222 yards and 24 touchdowns | 204 receiving yards and 5 touchdowns | 112 tackles | 15 TFL | one fumble forced and one recovered | 2 interceptions Wyatt Robbins (QB, Murray) 🗞️ | Another injury case. At his peak, Robbins was a legit threat to bring Mr. Football back to WKY for the first time in over a decade. That peak wasn't sustainable and he missed the state finals entirely. 2025 Season: 187/269 (69%) for 3,199 yards and 35 touchdowns with 5 interceptions | 533 rushing yards and 4 touchdowns Cam O'Hara (QB, Cooper) 🗞️ | A remarkable junior season was always going to be a daunting task to follow up. Losing two DI targets made the hill impossibly steep. O'Hara ranks #2 all-time in career touchdown passes with 146 and #5 in career yards with 11,227. 2025 Season: 134/229 (58%) for 2,231 yards and 26 touchdowns with 5 interceptions | 3 rushing touchdowns

The tie breaker would have to be the man that carried his team to the 1st title victory in 39years. Wouldve been nice to see a senior season Head-to-Head. Would’ve been a heck of a game.
