Murray is built to dominate the LOS and run the ball.  56% run oriented.  Yet CAL is dominating the LOS.  QB or not, CAL is the much better team.

Right, CAL is better up front than Murray and that is Murray's strength.

This is going as expected as far as CAL dominating. Good season Murray, I've always maintained making it to the state championship game is a success no matter the outcome. Doesn't make it any less painful to lose, but when you have time to reflect later, the reality of what you did starts to set in and you have a lot to be proud of. That goes for all the teams who finish as runner up.

QB scrambles ends the first half.

Jackson Burke is 9 for 9 for a 180 some yards and three TDs.

Not much said about it, but Burke had arguably the greatest season in KHSAA history for a QB. He obliterated the completion percent record, completing over 80% of his passes. That is an amazing stat by itself. Here are his stats coming into this game:

200/243 .... 82.3%.... 3,202 yards .... 48 TD's ..... 1 INT

Only a sophomore.

Interesting, did not know this:

Jackson Burke, the sophomore quarterback for Christian Academy of Louisville (KY), enters today's Class 3A state championship game against Murray with a single-season passing completion percentage of 82.3% (200 completions out of 243 attempts, per reports as of December 4, 2025). This puts him on track to break the national high school football record for single-season completion percentage (minimum qualifiers typically apply, and he easily meets them).

The current national record is 81.5%, set by Kane Archer of Greenwood High School (Arkansas) as a junior. Burke's performance in today's game will determine his final percentage for the 2025 season—if he maintains or stays above ~82%, he will set the new record. Even a below-average game is unlikely to drop him below the mark given his high volume of attempts already, but a strong outing could push it higher (he's thrown for around 3,200+ yards and 48 TDs this season with only one interception). This would be a remarkable feat for a sophomore in a state title game.

Great minds ... I was typing my post as you posted this one.

I agree, all those players will look back and be very proud.

Additionally, the underclassman all have a great chance next year too.

Murray starts on the 20.

Murray got a first down out to the 30.

Looks like Murray is going to be mostly content to run the ball.

4th and 3 on the 37 for the Tigers.

Low, line drive punt but a good one.

CAL to start on the 34.

Short pass to JaHyde Brown and he went left and then right and then outran everyone to take it to the house.

CAL 35 Murray 0

Running clock with 823 left in the 3rd quarter.

This is going to be a quick second half.

Injury timeout, Murray player is up and moving off the field slowly.

Wyatt Robbins nearly got wiped out on the sidelines...
