I think this is an interesting game. I don’t particularly think either one of these teams are very good but give me Barren in the upset 20-14.

I’m going Barren after Apollo’s performance on Friday.  I hope I’m wrong because they’ve had a good season.

I still think Apollo "should" win.  Why?

They are at home, but other than that I think it's a toss up.

Will be fun to keep up with this game.

I have to admit.  I'm a little surprised by the poll.

Both teams are 0-0, just like everyone else participating in the KHSAA playoffs. I believe that Apollo can bounce back, but you can't underestimate Barron. They are a big, physical team that can run the ball well! How do they match up against a spread team that is capable of putting up a lot of points? I got the Eagles in this one....

I think Apollo will bounce back from that game against DC and win 35-14. I feel that that offense will be to much for barren county. I know Apollo is a little banged up with MIlburn being out and badger possibly being out. If Barren county defense can take advantage of that then it could be a close game but I see it being a game that Apollo wins 21+ points.

Apollo has a chance to make history for their program. No playoff win since 2005(?)

I can't imagine Barren slowing down AHS passing attack. The Trojan offense, however, is designed to eat the clock and march down the field with different rushing attacks. Despite the 4th quarter of the DC game, Apollo's defense has made huge strides. I expect a big game from Hot Rod Dillard and Brody Griffith at LB, respectfully. Plus, Apollo O/Dline returns Big BG #50, who is a force to reckon with when healthy and in the ball game. Keep Barren held to long down and distances, then Apollo should have this game in the bag.

Badger out?  Ouch…Milburn?  Is that part of why they lost to DC?  Badger is really good and Milburn no slouch.  What Apollo team shows up?  IF no Badger, that makes it hard.

The Trojans offense is predicated on how well the QB can read their keys and make the right decisions, it was shaky early but you can see the confidence building for the JR Briggs. I like their FB Daylan Thomas, he’s a load, and if the box ever starts to get too crowded Jaxon Byrd out wide is a pretty good football player himself. The Trojans defense will have to bring their A game, Apollo should be able to score some points but the control of the game clock will get BC this win on the road.

I still think Apollo wins this game. Maybe not much but I had them winning against Madisonville all week and EVERYONE was saying "You really think so?"

But they lost to DC so the consistency isn’t there.

I agree. They are VERY inconsistent, but it's Apollo so it is what it is. I hate it for Coach Edge I would like for them to win for him and to break a 20 year playoff win drought. After this week they are either done or move on. I will always be OHS, but Edge has helped some of my nephews and I'm grateful for what he did for them.

John Edge is a one of a kind coach. I have been following him for many years. He took a 3-9(?) team in 2009 and turned around and went to the 2A State Championship in 2010. This Eagles team reminds me of the OC teams that he coached in the past. They had an OFF 4th quarter against DC. It happens. He knows how to rally teams together. Remember when everyone called for blowouts against OC and MNH this year? Max Johnson is the real deal. He is a competitor. The team is filled with athletes. Are their injuries going to hurt them? Absolutely. But they have DEPTH at the skill positions. Barron won't be able to match their speed. If AHS can force long down and distances against Barron, then they win this ball game. It shows that most of everyone in this thread only gets their info from 102.7 The "Lame". I believe in John Edge. I believe in the Eagles.

Idk why the attack on 102.7 the game. Those guys put in a lot of work to highlight the kids in the local area and do a great job at it. The main host is an Apollo guy so that statement doesn’t even make sense.
