This 1A district matchup in Carlisle should be a good one.  Paris is 3-3, Nicholas County is 7-0.  Massey Ratings predicts a 34-24 Paris win.

I'm going with Nicholas County 28-22.

Paris can score fast. Nicholas has to pick up first downs to control the clock. This game can go either way.

I think we find out who both of these teams truly are this week. I have two big questions that I believe most want to know in 1A. 

Is Nicholas a true contender or has the schedule played a major factor in their success?
 

Can Paris still win the district and compete in 1A despite the 3 losses? 
 

While I believe Nicholas has done a great job this year I don’t know if they can handle the speed and athleticism Paris has. I also don’t know if this Paris team has the maturity and discipline to travel to Nicholas and weather the storm to pull this one out. I’m thinking we will have a great 1A battle on our hands but Paris pulls this one out late.

I think the difference in schedule strength shows up this week.

Nicholas County has been a great story, but I look for Paris to pull out a close one in Carlisle.

Paris leading 12-6 with 3:00 to go in the opening quarter! 

 

Nicholas County senior Wyatt Simons capped off a 95-yard drive (all on the ground) with a one-yard run.

Still waiting, but it appears that Paris' QB Turner went down with injuries.

Paris, thanks to a 65-yard pass/run from Turner, who has returned, to senior Traden Murrell, is finished off by a 2-yard TD runs by Turner. Greyhounds on top 18-6 with 1:37 left in the half.

Paris opened the second with the scoring  drive the was finished off with a 2-yard run from Bell. Greyhounds finally converts an extra point ... they lead the Bluejackets 25-6 with 8:19 left in the third!

Question remains ... can Paris hold up? They've struggled in the second half all season long from fatigue!
