  • I say if that is your approach to the game, don't schedule the game.

Over on the Ohio message boards a guy said beat the cake eaters. First I've heard that but I'm not from Northern KY.

And NONE of this story is why they call HHS Cakeaters. I’ll save your the real story, but we actually refer to ourselves as Cakeaters and we have for Many decades and it really doesn’t offend us, so k

I will agree with this comment.  Nothing against the Birds but this is a huge step up in competition. HHS is still the best team in NKY and I see them with deep run in the playoffs.

I’m not a social studies professor but I do remember Cov Cath only falling to the Panthers by a TD. Highlands and Cov Cath are basically the exact same level of team.  So there is a chance… Is there some excuse why Elder didn’t dominate Cov Cath?

I can tell you from watching all of Elders games , they’re not even close to the same team they were week 2. Yes teams should get better week to week but the rate at which the Panthers have done so is impressive. Elder was not beating Moeller in week 2 in my opinion. The Elder QB has really found himself and how to manage that offense in the last three weeks and the defense has really stepped things up. They are a true 2 platoon team across the board and Highlands is not . I’d say the bluebirds are definitely beat up but they’re going to go in there looking to come out with a win , no excuses . If the Birds play their best football I think they can do that !!

I watched the Elder QB’s highlight tape, very impressive. Could someone give me a quick overview of their offense? Run/pass %? From the video, it seems he likes to run (a lot). To Highlands credit, they shut Harney down on the ground last week and have good athleticism up front. Interested to see their scheme to bottle up the Elder QB - he’s quick!

Elder 28-14.

I sure hope so!

This is one of those games where nearly the whole state of Kentucky should be rooting for Highlands.  The only exceptions are for RPI implications and haters.

Just like @theguru said, hop on board all you Kentuckians.  Plenty of room on the bus!!

I’ll bring plenty of C-A-K-E for everyone to share.

So interesting question from this… Cov Cath would benefit from a Highlands win correct? I have no idea if this happens but would Cov Cath give Highlands any intel from playing Elder well a couple weeks ago? Or does Highlands just watch the film and that’s it?

I am not the RPI expert here, anyone?

I'm not a hater but I do generally pull for Catholic schools vs. public schools but I wouldn't be mad if Highlands wins.
