I have some things that drive me crazy:

1.  As a person who had the opportunity to play college football, and the parent of a child who did play college football:  I hate it when fans (parents) say, "my son is a D1 player".  Really?  Do you know what a D1 player looks like?  Come on man.  Let them play high school football.  Can some, play at some level, in college?  Sure, but D1?  Seriously, do you know what D1 is?  

2.  "He got back in time".  There is no such thing in high school football.  Once you jump off sides, you are off sides.  There is no, "get back in time".  

3.  "We're going to win a state championship this year".  Seriously, have you seen a state championship team?  Again, let them play, because unrealistic expectations are doing nothing for anyone.  

4.  "The refs are cheating for the home team".  The referees are assigned by the regional assigning secretary and have no knowledge of what games they are going to be officiating.  Now, this is in Kentucky, in other states......Ohio...... this may be different.  But.....if they are bad, it's because they are bad, not because they are "cheating".  And, some officials are just bad and not going to do well.

Not sure which is rarer…..a D1 high school player, or an unbiased-rational parent.

I’ll always remember one of the many audits we got at the CMHC. One year an auditor showed up in a suit stretched to the seams.  6’2”, 275, carved out of granite. I asked him where he had played. 
 

UK (a poor SEC team when he was there, often the case).  BACKUP nose guard. 

So, go to the game. Enjoy myself. Watch some good football. Spend $25-30 bucks on burgers and hot dogs. Maybe something a little extra. And then....in the 4fth. Qtr. They got like $1 everything....???
