Yeah…it was nice to beat Catholic bad…but it wasn’t a Super Bowl…they’ve won 3 in a row and are a great program so any win should be celebrated but we should win most years.  The fact that they beat us some is major props to their discipline and ability.

I agree. I'm Owensboro through and through, but John Edge and Jason Morris have beaten us the majority of those 18 wins. Before Edge I think it was like 7. Jason I think has a winning record vs. Owensboro right now. That's amazing. Again, that shouldn't happen but I think with this new hire we are heading in the right direction.

  • We shall see….my biggest hope with this new hire, after getting wins, is that we stop losing kids from the program. Friday night the Devils will face 3-4 former players that start for Apollo.

  • Red Devils by at least 3 TDs.

This statement and we have to quit acting like winning city/county is the end all be all. I know we won't win it every now and then (10 years) but we gotta quit acting like "we won city and that's all that matters". NO we have to start focusing on the next level and that's state titles. Bowling Green is down and South Warren and other schools are out of 5-A. We have to start competing for titles and if we don't then we missed a HUGE window of an opportunity.

@TimeWillTell For this year, I would worry about winning your district.  That game at Madisonville is going to be huge and if you lose that then you will be the 2nd seed.  That may have you playing BG in the 2nd round at BG and that is not an easy game.  I hope all city teams do well, but I am just looking at this year only.  That is if you beat Apollo also.

Every time Apollo gets spanked by another team. It’s always that team would run circles around Owensboro?. This game is O’s to lose. If we win it’s regular scheduled programming, if y’all win it’ll be like yall won the Super Bowl.

Funny, Owensboro acted as if they won the Super Bowl when they beat OC, who has owned Owensboro the past THREE years. We are getting off topic with this.... Go Eagles. Good luck Owensboro. I want this to be a competitive game, its good for the city and community!

I can promise you this game worries me because if Apollo bring their A game they will be in a position to win the game. If we don't play well then it's going to be a challenge.

City county is good for the community and getting the area excited about football.... That is about it. It doesn't hold much merit at all. The only two teams it should really impact long-term is Owensboro and Apollo since its a district match up too. I like this 5A district this year. It may be the most competitive district across the state in 5A this year. These two teams could easily see each other again in the playoffs..... I can't wait to see how Madisonville squares off against OHS and Apollo. 5A is wide open! I think you will see a team from our district playing on Thanksgiving or December. It is still too early to see who that will be though, IMO.

That RPI needs to come out to see where Apollo and OHS stand.  Will that HH game hurt Apollo in RPI with it being out of state?

Right now I think Apollo and Owensboro vs MNH will be good games.   Got to win this week first.  I'm not sure if Apollo gets Madisonville in Owensboro or there.  That would be a huge win for Apollo as would beating O.  I think it will end up Owensboro first and the Apollo/MNH game for 2nd - leaning toward MNH, but let's see how the Eagles fare against O this week.

I just don’t see Apollo being able to slow the Owensboro offense down at all. Anything more than 1 punt from the devils would surprise me. The question is can Apollo generate enough long drives to keep Owensboro off the field? I honestly don’t think so. The eagles had success against OC because they had better athletes outside, they do not have that this week. I think OHS takes this one 41-14.

We had better athletes then Catholic. We may slightly have better athletes then Apollo. My question this week are we better up front then Apollo. I'm not sure but if we are it is not much. I really don't see our DL being DOMINIATE. I do see our LBs an issue for Apollo.

Anybody know what’s going on with the kid that transferred to OHS from Castle over in Indiana? He could help us along the D-line. Also hearing Apollo will be without one of their best OL.

Funny how folks bring up the 3 straight loses to Catholic but they never mention the 3 straight wins OHS had before that. As an alum I never viewed Catholic as a rival for my Red Devils. It’s a local game that we definitely want to win but for anybody above the age of 35 Catholic is an after thought on the Red Devils schedule. Unless of course we lose. 49-18-1 all time vs the Aces is ownership!! And for all the success folks claim Catholic has had recently they’re down 17-8 in the last 25 years. There was a time(80’s & 90’s) if the Red Devils were going to drop a local game it was more than likely going to be to the Eagles. They seemed to always have decent athletes and would produce D1/1-AA level kids almost as much as OHS. Anxious to see this game Friday night.

Will this game be streamed anywhere?

This is exactly my thought process on the game. Will look similar to the Apollo and Murray game.
