Apollo has definitely been up and down.  To me they were at their best with JT as QB against Catholic.  I know they have some playmakers, Badger, Bratcher, etc.  Heritage Hills dominated them though and I think that’s similar to what you can expect to an O team.  HH probably has a better O-line than Owensboro, but O has more speed.  I’ve always wanted HH to play Owensboro, now I’ve heard they never wanted to play Owensboro.  Edge is a great coach, again I was for Edge taking the O job.  Apollo under Edge has surprised me sometimes.  I think Apollo has a good offense, but a limited defense.  Hampton needs to play for O though.

Heritage Hills would blow anyone out in the city, IMO. Those dudes are different on the other side of the Ohio!

HH played CAL last year and got their doors blown off 35-7 and were outgained about 400 to 170 in yards.  O lost by 10 to CAL (and had 2 separate TD’s called back) and total offensive yards was about the same.  HH had big problems with CAL’s athleticism.  HH blowing out Apollo doesn’t mean they would blow out Catholic or Owensboro.  Although if Apollo beats Owensboro, I would agree then that HH would dominate.

Apollo still worries me. Defensively they are not very good. They lost their LBs to graduation. 
 

I respect Apollo, I respect John a lot. They just don’t have the talent a Catholic or Owensboro has. I watched his teams at Catholic beat some of Owensboro teams they had no business beating and I’ve seen him beat North Hardin back when NH had a ton of D1 studs. The game against when they beat Henderson Co when they had two huge DL. I can’t remember their names. Again I respect John and I know he does a good job but they just don’t have it at Apollo. Even Gooch had some teams that struggled. Gooch only won a 2 playoff games at Apollo and another coach won 1 in like 2006. That was the last time Apollo won a playoff game. That’s hard to believe.

Goldsberry would run circles around Owensboro on both sides of the ball. I’m not buying that anyone could cover HH receivers, either.

@jester270 I disagree on HH/OHS- let’s disagree to disagree.  I won’t need a welfare check LOL.  If Apollo beats us I’ll go into BGP Hibernation early!  I laughed out loud on the “ when Apollo keeps it close..”. LOLLLL

Every time Apollo gets spanked by another team. It’s always that team would run circles around Owensboro?. This game is O’s to lose. If we win it’s regular scheduled programming, if y’all win it’ll be like yall won the Super Bowl.

You are exactly right Devils. Although, we acted like we won a Super Bowl vs Catholic. We are better than that.

Yeah…it was nice to beat Catholic bad…but it wasn’t a Super Bowl…they’ve won 3 in a row and are a great program so any win should be celebrated but we should win most years.  The fact that they beat us some is major props to their discipline and ability.

Take it with a grain of salt but I read on social media that the head to head vs Owensboro Catholic is like 49-18-1 in Owensboro’s favor. I like OHS to beat Apollo 35-14.
