At the very least he should be the varsity backup and if Litmer gets hurt (we never want anyone to get hurt) I would play him.  That way Highlands doesn't have to ask too much of Lorenzen.

If it's Jamil Whimsy, yes the kid is a baller. Very good basketball player too. He was was playing freshman and jv with Holy Cross in basketball as a 7th grader.

Useful piece of information when you talk about an 8th grader balling out on the freshman level. No knocking it. But he is balling out as he should as he is the same age as the kids he is competing against. He is too good for it to benefit himself by playing 8th grade ball also. So he is doing the right things. Again not knocking it, I love what the kid has going on. And yes common practice.

It’s “Amil” Wimzie and he is not a re-class he’s just played up in nearly every sport for the past few years also Jaxston Moeves #13 is also an 8th grader and is the starting corner and back up QB. He was the QB for the 7th grade last year.

“The studs” are gonna be the studs, no doubt…whether you’re talking about an 8th grader who ‘could’ be a freshman OR a (“super” ?) senior who people are saying should/could be in college.

I believe there are “age restrictions” in-place per the KHSAA…so I don’t think kids beyond certain age “thresholds” are eligible to compete in any given sport (by season, I guess).

I’m just a bit tired of the CHON (COVID-19) “narrative” - “the “games”” have been a thing “for forever” & can only go so far.

It’s Amil Wimzie and he is not a reclass. He is in 8th grade at Highlands Middle School. He is playing up he literally just turned 14 two weeks ago.

I know Sophmores that are 14. He is a reclass
