? | Scotties look to reclaim county championship from Trojans. Glasgow suffered through a rare losing season last year, while Barren experienced a program high water mark with ten wins, including 23-7 over cross town rival Glasgow.

? vs. ? | Like last year, Barren is built for bully-ball. They want to be the more physical team and win the point of attack. The Trojans grinded out 200+ yards rushing last week against Southwestern. Glasgow counters with fast twitch galore. The Scotties are an explosive play waiting to happen. They averaged 32 yards per pass completion last week against Clay County (TN) and took two picks back for scores, totalling 152 yards combined.

Defense wins (county) championships? | Both teams flexed some defensive muscle last week. Glasgow allowed just 83 yards in its shutout victory, while Barren kept the Warriors in single digits on the scoreboard.

Series History ?: Glasgow leads 16-5 since 1998. Barren County rushed for over 300 yards to batter the Scotties last year for their first series win in ten years.

I only saw highlights, but I was really impressed with the Scotties.  Barren looks to be a very good team as well.  But I'll take Glasgow to win this one. That big pay ability will be the difference against a good defense. 

We all know the script here Barren is going to try to ram the ball down the Scotties throat Glasgow is going to try to get their athletes in space and let that speed run away from people. I think Barren will have some success early but I noticed last week their big guys got tired in the second half and they didn’t run the ball near as effectively or really stop the run as well. I look for the first half to be pretty competitive and for Glasgow to run away in the second half. I also expect Jaylen Bradley to cause Coach Myers some sleepless nights this week that kid is special. Last week he had a 52 yard run where he was knocked out just short of the goal line. He also had a 65 yard touchdown catch where he just run away from everyone and then a 67 yard interception return for a touchdown. He’s a big play waiting to happen. My final prediction is 35-13 Scotties.

Barren is getting a couple suspended players back and have two transfers from Glasgow in Daylan Thomas and Katavium Fryar (Went to Glasgow as a Freshman, Caverna as a Sophomore, and Barren as a Junior). I wonder how this matchup goes. Glasgow has speed. Barren has size, interesting matchup. I think Glasgow takes it 42-20.

This rivalry has been heated for a long time and this week is no different. According to sources, there is a quiet confidence with the Scotties as they look to regain sole possession of the city. If the Scottie’s can stop the run and limit turnovers, I think this one could potentially run away from the Trojans in the second half. Interested to see this one play out.
