This is the opening game of the 2025 Kentucky High School Football season.  It is tonight, Thursday at 7pm.

I have no idea on this game, who wins?

I have nothing against Shawnee, but I know Iroquois gets very little love anywhere and I think Coach May is doing a good job over there with pretty tough circumstances.  So, I'm pulling for Iroquois.

Looking at common opponent last year of Waggener which Shawnee beat 44-22 and Iroquois beat 8-6. Based on that I'll take Shawnee in this one.

My first trip to Fryrear Field on Iroquois HS Campus. Good experience but I had to leave at the half.
Shawnee 8

Iroquois 6

at Halftime.
Pretty even game. I think Shawnee should win but not by many.

14-6 Shawnee in 3rd Quarter.

Final

Shawnee 30

Iroquois 6

Congratulations Shawnee.

Yeah so much for sentimental picks for me!

Good for those Shawnee kids.

Both Schools for that matter.

Had the stage to themselves tonight.

Hope each has a good season.

I made a pact with myself this offseason, no more sentimental picks.

Went to a DeSales playoff game there several years ago before they built their own place. Was a nice place, glad you went.

Football, baby! Football!
