Lex. Christian 83 NCC 57

Second trip to the finals for the Lady Breds and both times coming home as the bridesmaid, but still a pretty good accomplishment for them. They should be proud of making it to the finals even though I'm sure they would have liked a bigger trophy. St. Henry took the same trophy home in '96 as did Brossart in '98 and '00. However , Brossart did win it in 1999 (or at least I think it was '99), making them the only girls team to win it all. Congratulations to the Lady Breds - they faced a formiable foe in Lex. Christian.

Good run for the breds... however they did not play very well in richmond the entire tournament

What is this suppose to mean? The only NKY team or what? I personally don't consider Brossart, CampCo, SK, Scott and Walton part of this area any more w/the restructuring and not being in the 9th Region.

Way to go NCC, you represented the 9th w/a lot of pride.

Congrats to the LCA Lady Eagles on their State A Title.

This bringsup a point that has bothered me for several years since the restructuring. When all-star teams are picked at the end of the year, players from non-ninth region teams are routinely selected. Yet I see these same players on all 8th & 10th region teams also. I realize the newspapers cover "the area" noy just "the region", but somehow it doesn't seem fair that 9th region girls(boys) get by passed for players from another region.

This is in no way implying that the players from non ninth region teams aren't deserving, but somehowI can't justify being eligible for selection on teams from 2 different regions. Any thoughts?

Congrats LCA

Souds like you are still smarting from the lickings you took the last 2 football seasons. I doubt you care at all about LCA, you're just glad NCC got beat. Get over it FOOTBALL FAN.

I agree 100%. These athletes get recognized from the 8th/9th and 10th regions. The 9th region players get no recognition from the 8th or 10th.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't Brossart, Campbell Co, Scott, Calvary and Silver Grove in the NKAC (Northern Ky. Athletic Conference)? If you want to exclude them from the area, then maybe you should also exclude them from the confernence. It's not those teams fault they got moved to a different region. So do you want to punish them by excluding them from the Conference and any recognition? Blame can't be put on these teams. Try to get over it 3-pointer. Sounds like a little jealousy if you ask me.

No matter what I think/say you always seem to disagree. As far as the jealousy comment, get a grip. The day I become jealous of an 8th/10th region team, something will freeze over.

In my opinion, they should not be in the NKAC, that is why I said what I said.

I am not blaming anyone either, I just feel that their respected region should recongnize their players and their players only. Maybe the 8th/10th should come up w/their own conference if they don't have one?

These schools' players are recognized because the coaches association and the teams in the NKAC conference WANT them to remain as a part of the conference. The recognition to which you refer is conferred upon the players by the coaches association and the local media. There is a separate All-Region team that is limited to just 9th region players just like in the other regions. The kids from SK, Campbell, Silver Grove, Scott, Calvary and Walton are our neighbors and compete against a majority of the other No. Ky. teams. I would suggest that with the increase in the number of games being played within the No. Ky. area that we could even start including Pendleton, Grant, Williamston and maybe even others at some point.

anybody know who made the all torney team? You wan to talk about not belonging. try being from gallatin or carroll nobody claims us. We can not get coverage from northern ky or Louisville. Let it be the fuel for your fire and just keep beating the other NKy schools that will not give you consideration and the rest will take care of itself.

Thank you bulldog77 for using common sense and realizing that just because some teams have been moved to a different region (not their choice) that they not be excluded by the conference. Hey 3-pt shooter, it IS called the NORTHERN KY. CONFERENCE and the schools in the 8th and 10th have not physically moved out of northern Ky., just into a different region. QUit crying over spilled milk and eat your cookies! And speaking of "freezing over", I think with this cold weather, I think that place you spoke of may be frozen - so THERE YOU GO!

I know that the five starters from Lexington Christian made it, Clara Mitchell, Sara Beth Barnette, Courtney Clifton, Anna Martin and Emily London was the MVP. #43 (Whitney Ballenger) from Carrol County made it, #4 from Cumberland County made it. I believe that there were 3 or 4 from NCC that made it. I can't remeber the girl's name from Paris that made it. There was one or two from Lyon County as well.
