Really? Villa and ludlow are about as good as heritage and Boone county. Lloyd and Dixie are about as good as Ryle and Conner.

Perhaps. Fair point. I would choose St. Henry's district over the years but those two districts have been more even in recent years with Lloyd's improvement and the decline of Boone County.

Yes I stated that just based off the optics of the situation and the administration may not be appealing to everyone but all Cooper has to do is find one guy that fits and they will be okay. I have stated recently that I think it is still an appealing job and that the future coach will be able to have success but Ricardo wouldn't  leave Holy Cross for it. Like I also said I think it would be hard to get Ricardo to leave Holy Cross for any job unless a school throws a blank check at him and it's just something he simply can't refuse due to the numbers, even then I think the only thing that would be appealing enough for him to leave would be in the college ranks.

I thought it was kind of a bold and suprising statement too when it first popped in to my mind but not so much the more I thought about it. It's not a knock on St. Henry or Sully I said I think they are definitely going to be better and good over time. Give Sully 3-5 years to get his classes in there and for them to become seasoned upperclassmen and I think they can become annual region contenders but being a contender and a champion are not the same thing. I think Cov Cath and Highlands by far without a doubt are best positioned to have the foreseeable future sewn up in the 9th, they have the ground work already laid out. Cooper can still be right there but I think they were going to see a drop off this year Sully or not. St. Henry is playing catch up for a while along with the rest of the region. Newport is a real wildcard and Holy Cross is right there on the edge of breaking through they are only are a piece or two away over the next few years from the 9th being theirs. Beechwood is going to be tough over the next couple years I wouldn't just throw St. Henry ahead of them.I don't know about how good Beechwood will be next year but give them a few more years and they are going to be right there. I think Lloyd will consistently give St. Henry problems in district. Dixie won't be a cake walk by any means for St. Henry either. Everyone keeps talking about the wide talent pool he has to pull from but I have to see them real game changers come in before I can say it's a difference maker. Even without bonafide stars coming in Sully will still have St. Henry in the mix but my "boldness" comes from just how hard I think it is to win the 9th or any region for the most part. Sully needs alot of time just like he did at Cooper (10 years before 1st region champ?) but even then I don't think he will ever benefit from having the type of athletes he had at Cooper at St. Henry. Having the best athletes helps a ton. Not trying to get caught up on the football thing again but it's been said they will get kids that may have considered Cov Cath, Beechwood, Holy Cross, NCC, etc. because they have football now but St. Henry is not about to get the best football players to leave them schools, they may get some "okay" ones. At Cooper they had the best football players already there and that really helped benefit the basketball program. Sully at Cooper was a perfect marriage. Great coach and leader blessed with outstanding athletes all around him plus a real hooper every now and then. Even then it is still so hard to win the 9th he was only able to pull it off a couple times. The universe has to align so perfectly for any team to pull it off. I know St. Henry has done it before but even then it's been stated that those were great classes for St. Henry that didn't just align over night. It is bold to say Sully may never win one at St. Henry but I'm just looking at the realistic overall outlook where the 9th is right now as a whole. I said this recently too that I think the 9th as a whole is down next year compared to recent years but I think St. Henry still has a ways to go before the 9th is theirs. I am definitely going to enjoy watching the process.

Sorry @Voice of Reason didn't read your post throughly enough the first time and misintrepeted bold lol but either was it probably is a bold statement.

Is there any update on this position?  I have not seen the job posted to Boone Co. employment page and I have not heard any word about interviews.  June Camps are coming up and to not have a coach in place is a rough start.

I think alot of high school basketball is starting the first week of June. Something has got to be coming out in the next week I would hope for Cooper's sake.

If there isn't much noise about the job, that leads me to believe they are simply waiting on a decision from Coach Holthaus (the girls basketball coach). That is total speculation on my part, but it would make sense as to why the position hasn't been posted. 

I'm pretty sure that they would still have to post it. Oddly enough, they did post a bunch of assistant positions.

That's been my speculation also.

Very strange. I thought they would have to post the head coach position available but maybe not I guess.
