Scott is an excellent coach and with the athletes at Clark Co this score is hardly surprising.

He probably could have had 10 or 11 assist. I saw several passes hit his players in the hand and go out of bounds or they missed the shot. Still Knowles is the best player that I have seen this year and I have been to over 30 high school games in Kentucky. Very quick and extremely athletic. It was a joy to watch him play.

HC, you started this thread off with a lot of ammo. I was at the game and saw a lot of good things for the CATS.

1. Ashland Student Section IMPRESSED ME FINALLY tonight with Great school spirit and positive chants for their team. EVEN IMPRESSED when they positively chanted for Knowles after a two handed dunk.

2. CATS played great tonite (as many Catfans have been stressing lately) but was just totally outmatched by a very, very, very good Clark Co team.

3. CATS played the best defense I have seen in the 16th region as to date tonight. They moved, were in good position, and hustled all night long.

4. I don't know of any team in the 16th who could handle Ashland's press defense the way it looked tonight.

5. Knowles with 34, 7 three pointers. ENOUGH SAID!!! He is just that good.

 

I totally believe that the Ashland-Elliott game will be unbelievable this Tuesday.

Hatton has started the last 3 games and has played well. It really does not matter who starts but what the final score is. Just wanted to clear it up.

Yep, the Ashland/Elliott Co game with be a really good game. Whomever wins we can crown as the new king of the 16th region. Until a few days later when we will crown someone else and so on. : )

 

Dickie said it on the broadcast I believe, wasn't that Ashland played that bad, it was that Clark Co played that good.

He has not played his best offensive ball lately, but for a 8th grader he is so smooth and does not rattle.

 

Stenzel only took two shots tonight and hit both of them ,just doesn't shoot as much as some of the others .The more you shoot , usually, the more you get.

They chanted for him alright, the exact words were That Was Weak.

 

As for their section though, one of the best I have seen this year, note that I haven't seen Cov Cath yet although they used alot of Cov Cath's chants.

Wow. I wasn't expecting this score tonight. Clark County and Preston Knowles are obviously "the real deal." Congrats to GRC.

GRC, I apologize!! I thought they were chanting, "That was Sweet!"

 

I have been downing their students too much this season and I was really looking for positives tonight and thought I found it, but I must b wrong again.

 

Anyway, it was an entertaining game and I came away impressed with Ashland's Defense, Coaching, and hustle. I was extremely impressed with GRC's coaching, athletic ability and their sense of composure throughout the game.

Anderson Gymnasium is my all-time favorite gym! I've never seen O.J. play live ,but Knowles impressed me big time. He reminded me of current New Orleans Hornet player,and former Arkansas Razorback Jannero Pargo. Ashland IS no doubt a major contender for the 16th Region, and GRC was just that much better. They are the best H.S. team that I've seen play this season. Ashland and GRC could both very easily be at Rupp! Ashland students had the best basketball atmosphere Wow!!! They were awesome I love the Roller Coaster and the Boxing Match. Also nice touch with Brandon Webb at the half!
