I hear you too, bug.  Most of you that have been around BGP for awhile know I like hip hop/rap/etc. and I really enjoyed the halftime performance overall.  No hating on Kendrick Lamar here, he is an amazing talent!  I had the volume cranked and sat about 8 feet from my 75inch TV.  I was totally into the vibe, tuned everything else out (except Serena did surprise me), and it was like I was at the concert.  However, I wish the NFL would opt for more pure entertainers without some type of agenda and/or criminal activity that has nothing to do with the NFL.  To me that means we had a halftime show that revolved around statutory rape only no one is being prosecuted and the money keeps flowing.  Also, where is the Epstein client list?  How do rich and powerful people get away with so much?  Additionally, I had trouble understanding the words for the majority of the performance.  I know that is "on me" but I also know from reading my Facebook feed I am far from alone.  To wrap up, I wish the NFL would take a different course with halftime entertainment.  Prince was amazing, Katy Perry, Lenny Kravitz, and Missy Elliott crushed it, and I thought Tom Petty was straightforward and nailed it.  Finally, it is 2025, Who Dey!!

To clarify, I was not a fan of the halftime show. I simply didn't think it was that good and I love KL! Rap does not translate well for that type of setup. His cameo accompanying Snoop, Dre, etc. in LA is about as well as a 12-minute rap concert can be. It is a difficult genre to pull off in that environment.

Everyone, I do have one beef with KL, standing on a Grand National is a no no!

Totally unrelated.  But one of the commercials was for Lay’s and featured a potato farming family from northern Florida.  My parents have known them for nearly 40 years.

I put the game on my DVR so I could go back and watch all the commercials.  There were some good ones.  I loved the Michelob Ultra/Pickleball commercial.

Projections show that a record number of viewers tuned in to this Super Bowl for a second consecutive year.

Some was saying in the Super Bowl prediction thread that they thought the viewing numbers would be down for this game. I just saw that FOX sets record with 126 million viewers.

Interestingly, he is not suing Kendrick but rather the music company that represents them both.
