Okay, someone help me out here, is coaching different than teaching that they have to have the job posted for a certain amount of time before hiring? I know teaching/admin jobs there's a waiting period. Is it not the same for head coaches?

I think @BEChargers was making some clarifications about this in another thread so maybe he can jump in.

No...he was, though. Let's just say things in their new district, a particular date or two will be really fun. If who they have hired and who is rumored to be hired are true? I'm very happy for all parties involved.

The misconception with the "30 days" when a coaching job comes open is that it often times is tied in with a teaching position, so to follow protocol(s) with the teaching part of the hire? You get the "30 days"

But sometimes that doesn't even matter. They hire for the coaching position and go through the teaching gig side of the dog and pony show at a later date.

No skin in the game with Marion County. They could hire Nick Saban or somebody who only has football experience through playing Madden for all I care, but I'm just happy for both.

3 seasons, 25-11 with a trip to the finals…if that’s who you are hearing of course.

Yep. Take out the 12-1 1st year and you’ve got 13-10. 1st yr was a team of kids his dad coached for 3 yrs. A group of kids that won the MS state championship as 8th graders.

But the issues aren’t even the wins & losses. He knows football without a doubt. He grew up in it. His dad is a legend. Unfortunately, he didn’t get his dads work ethic or character.

Fair enough. Perhaps after reflecting on his first stint as a HC he makes some adjustments and improvements.
