DCA (16-2, All 'A' #4) plays Lyon Co. for the title tomorrow at 2:00.

Hazard (19-2, All 'A' #1) visits Wolfe Co. Tuesday.

Hazard led at halftime 16-13.  DCA couldn't get any shots to drop going going 5/27.  They turned it around in the second half and shot 11/16.  DCA's defense held Hazard to 13 points in the second half.

This is a really nice win for DCA. They beat a really good team by 15, while holding them to 29 points. Hazard was 19-2 coming in and had wins over Ashland and Harlan County.

Good luck to the Warriors!

Another championship and Historical season continues for DCA. 12th Region All A Champions, All A State Champions, 45th District Champions and 12th Region Champions. Calling it now!!

Could very well happen.

Hazard will get these results with the style they play vs good teams, offense runs thru Eversole and he is slow and ineffective vs defense of high quality.

Looked like just ISO ball.  Teams have to cut and screen through DCA zone Def. Or they have no shot getting looks.

Exactly, Hazard has no competition in their region and can get by there, not a top 20 team and would be beaten with high frequency if playing top 20 teams regularly.

Danvilles length/size must of killed Hazard. The stat sheet two things stand out to me. Hazard was out rebounded again by 10. Hazard was also 4-26 from the 3. Hazard is usually a very good shoot team from 3. Looks as if they couldn’t buy one. The other difference Danville Christian had 10 fast break points to Hazards 0. This most definitely would have been nice game if Hazard could have had its other big back in Higgins who hasn’t played since the beginning of December. The good thing is Hazard can learn from this and get better.

They did have trouble with DCA's size but DCA's depth helped them as well.  They were able to keep pressure on the ball because they play 10 deep.  The only perimeter player who played the entire game was Titus Boyd.  Coach Busick rotates his players so they can keep up the defensive intensity.  Hazard wasn't getting many good looks from the three point line.

Wouldn’t have thought anyone in the state could have held Hazard to 29 points but their 3s weren’t falling and that’s a rarity for them. I  realize DC is long and challenged a lot of their shots but they got a lot of open looks too, just couldn’t make them. And they missed the big Higgins guy. He’s about 6’4 and is a space-eater in the paint.
Does anyone know if he will be back for the post season tournaments?

Depth definitely probably hurt as well.  Hazard when healthy usually only plays 8 deep which is only 1 more player than 7 they been using since his injury. Hazard had to dig deep in there games as well exerting a lot more energy compared to Danville Christians double digit wins. But eager to hear who wins this tournament.

I agree usually 1 kid may hit 4 3s in a game. Higgins big football wide body frame can put a beaten on some kids no matter if they got the height on him.  I can’t give u a correct answer but I believe he will be back. I looked up his last game played and that was December 10th.
