Since Big Ben’s salad days, what they have a knack for is squeaking into the playoffs and then doing nothing. A function of being just good enough to be in a position not to land a franchise quarterback in the draft b

Kind of like the Bengals never winning anything?

Not a chance the Steelers play to win it all every year not like the Bengals!

Hmmm do they really? Sure seems like they have been very content being very Bengal like, ever since Big Ben retired. Can't win playoff games, but also hurting themselves by never being bad enough to get a top QB. So basically much like the Bengal in Marvin Lewis's last 8 years. Welcome to mediocrity.

They just finished this discussion on The Herd.  Basically Colin thinks the Steelers should pass on AR (because he probably leads to two more wins), take their hits this year, collect their draft choices, and trade way up in the draft next year.

Steeler fans definitely should want that scenario you just mentioned. If were to tank this year and get a high draft pick, without even having to trade picks to move up then that would be even better. They could get their QB and still have all their picks.

As someone who doesn't like the Steelers, I hope they keep doing the same status quo that they been doing since Big Ben lol.

Same fc, same.  Life after Big Ben has the Steelers on the struggle bus. No surprise there.

When I hear phrases like “tank this year”, I remember why I became an EPL fan several years ago (and yes, I pooh-pooed soccer for decades).  You finish at the bottom of the heap and you’re relegated, replaced by a top team from the next tier.

It would absolutely never happen in the NFL.

That is because the NFL is on the cheap and they don't have a farm system and now college football is being jumbled all up because of it.

Doesn't matter who the qb is defense wins Championships! Something the Bengals will never learn.  No tanking and no worries they will be just fine!

Not true for the Steelers. Steelers have only won championships when they have had hall of fame QBs. When they haven’t had any, they have been basically Bengal like and not winning the big ones.

You can do the laughing emoji all you want. Fact is the Steelers have won 36 playoff games. Out of those 36 playoff wins, 27 of them came with HOF QB Terry Bradshaw, and future HOF QB Big Ben. All of their Super Bowls also came with them two. The Steelers have only won 9 total playoff games without a HOF QB playing for them, and zero titles. Not to mention haven’t won a playoff game in nearly 10 years.

So while the Steelers are known for their defense. They don’t do much unless they have a HOF QB. So I don’t think many teams have much to fear in regards to the Steelers being a Super Bowl threat with their poor QB room.

Will Howard will do just fine!

As a Bengals fan, I am happy with the Steelers being content with only doing just fine at QB.
