I figured Newport would give KCD close to, if not all that they could handle. Congratulations to KCD on winning and to Newport on a very good season.

Didn’t expect this one to be close . Hats off to Coach Wiggins on a great first year at Newport!

Valiant effort by Newport. They really turned the page the last half of the season. Hopefully coach Wiggins can keep the momentum going next year ?

Man it would have been great for Coach Wiggins and the Cats to have gotten this one.

Congratulations on an outstanding season.  I'm sure the kids and community are proud of your accomplishments, when there were really no expectations coming into this season.

Happy and Heartbroken for you.

Was Newport senior heavy or relatively young? Hats off to Newport on a great year!

Newport has about 8 seniors and about 10 juniors. Next season, they will need to replace a Quarterback who has matured over the past few seasons into an outstanding individual. A few skill positions will also need to be replaced. I believe their offense and defense lines will be good.
