Ashland comes into this game off of a 47-7 victory over Harrison County and now has picked up at least 10 wins in a season 6 times since 2017. The Tomcats will come in with a balanced attack as LaBryant Strader has thrown for 25 touchdowns on the season while completing just under 70% of his passes. Braxton Jennings leads the charge on the ground with nearly 800 yards and 17 touchdowns while him, Cam Davis, and Sam Lyons have 31, 30, and 29 receptions respectively. Dylan Duckwyler has also stepped it up at wide receiver, including a 3 touchdown game against Johnson Central, the last score with 4 second to go which ended up winning the game, the district, and was able to get the Tomcats a number one seed in the playoffs. Ashland has only scored under 40 points in 2 of their 12 games this season, that being against Ohio power Harvest Prep and 1A contender Raceland, who has been known for their tough defense this season.

Mason County relies on Teegin Routt who has thrown for an impressive 24 touchdowns, nearly 2,000 yards, and completes around 57% of his passes. Cole Horch is a dangerous receiver who has 11 touchdowns and averages nearly 23.5 yards per reception. Mason County tends to rely on the short, quick pass more than running the ball but they certainly have the capability of running. Defensively they have only given up more than 21 twice this season, coming against 4A power and district foe Covington Catholic and an 8 win Lawrence County team in 3A. Their first round performance in the playoffs was impressive, with a commanding win over 4A top 10 team Greenup County.

This one will be exciting and there will be a LOT of athleticism from both teams, who heavily rely on their speed and ability to flow to the ball defensively. What are your thoughts on the game?

Congratulations to the Royals on a great season! I had no idea they were an eight win team.

For the first three games or so Ashland was working out some "kinks" on the offensive and defensive lines. They figured it out and are now a complete team. The current week twelve Mason County team would've had a chance against the week one, two, or three Tomcats but not now, they're just too strong and too balanced. Ashland pulls away and wins by three scores or so.
