Rash stadium may affect some teams, but it doesn't bother the Purples often.  They've won 7 of their past 8 trips to Rash.  Unless Owensboro shows they can move the ball on offense this one will be ugly.  I'll say BG 42-14.

Yep - BG is one of the few immune to Rash (look at South Warren last year).  Again, very solid BG team and very below average O teams leads to big BG win.  I don’t expect this to be close.  Again, if it were any of teams from 2019-2022 at Rash it might be a different story and I’d feel good about the matchup.  Hampton best D1 player most likely, but BG is better every where else.  They will run blitz, pass blitz….O will not have an answer.

  • DID YOU KNOW? The very first Owensboro HS vs BGHS football game was 92 years ago to the day. It was at BG and the Purples pulled out a 14-13 win to start the rivalry we have today!

  • Moonlite is good for the volume but Old Hickory can’t be beat for the quality!

  • GAME DAY! While BG is the favorite here, Owensboro at Rash Stadium is always dangerous.  As @Brown said above, look what happened to South Warren last season in this same playoff round.  Everyone

GAME DAY!

While BG is the favorite here, Owensboro at Rash Stadium is always dangerous.  As @Brown said above, look what happened to South Warren last season in this same playoff round.  Everyone picked South to win that game, but O came out and took it to South; got a couple turnovers and made them count.  As @BillNye said, BG has been somewhat immune to the ghosts of Rash Stadium.  But I was at that 2018 game and I'm pretty sure BG was favored in that one as well (heck they were on a 14-game win streak).  But BG simply didn't play well, and Owensboro played with great determination.  I expect nothing else but that tonight from the Red Devils.

This is just as an important game for them as BG.  So, I look for a very hard hitting and tough game.

I'm sure there are some lingering injuries and sickness on both sides too.  All that said, I'll go

BG 28

Owensboro 14

Thank you Sporting Times!!!!!

Curious to see how O starts on offense. I feel like Devils will ride Hampton to the tune of about 25-30 touches. Which they should. Unless the Devils get down big in a hurry, there is no reason to let Delacey put it in the air more than 15 times. Needs to be a calculated passing game. Of course, just my opinion. But if they want a close game, I'd say they will give it to their best player(s) and live with the results.

On the BG side of things, you have to feel if you get on O quick then it works heavily in your favor. Purples have been a mental hurdle overall for Owensboro the last decade or so. We will see how it plays out. I for one would never take O lightly. Look as close as last year against SW.... Everyone predicting blowout city and it turns on its head completely and the Spartans got taken to the woodshed. Complete "flogging" as our friend @Brown called it if I remember correctly.

Good luck and hope for a great game with no injuries!

You guys and @Purple88 (my favorite purple fan) are too kind.  Let’s be real, if both teams play their best BG wins by 2-3 TD’s if not more.  Can O win?  Yes absolutely.  Big game out of Dillard, Hampton and Delacey.  Delacey can’t turn it over - last 4 games vs. BG I think 5 interceptions.  Don’t be the hero.  It’s going to take some mistakes by BG to win but they have the big game experience here with Bailey Barber combo.  O coaches fool me and game plan and adjust great and we will see.  Anything can happen and Hampton, Dillard can house it quick.  O has to be ready for blitz’s like crazy - last year no answer.  Turnovers will be a killer for O.  Again 42-7, but I’ll be shocked if it’s not 2 TD or more lead at half.  This year BG is far and away the better team.  Hope I’m wrong I would love nothing more than O to beat down the purples!

Owensboro has made some nice improvements to Rash Stadium. A new barrier wall next to the Library. And I think they cleaned and painted all stands including the visitor stands. Nicely done. And I had to go through metal detectors for the first time here at Rash Stadium.

Red Devils in all back with red numbers and letters.
