Carolina Does any other team have a legitimate claim at this time? Who else has a chance to slide in to a #1 seed (remember, if one slides in, you have to take one out)... Kansas??? tOSU??? February 1, 200719 yr Oregon lost to Washington! You still see them as a Top 5 team? When Oregon gets swept in Los Angeles this week the Duck talk will be behind us. They don't play very good defense and they are pedestrian away from home (yes, I know they beat Arizona by 2 in the desert). Didn't UCLA lose to Oregon? Wisconsin to Missouri St? Florida to Florida St? UNC to Gonzaga? Are any of those losses that much worse than losing on the road to a conference opponent that has been as successful as Washington the last few years? I agree right now they are #5, but they have the next best case if one of the top four should falter any further.

Yes, by 8 -- a head scratcher, no question. I think Pitt and Ohio St. have a much better chance at a Top Seed than does Oregon. Again, if Oregon gets swept in the next 4 days this conversation will be mute (or at least, temporarily muted ).

They played two big-time teams and lost both (admittedly, both on the road in brutal spots). However, I'd think that was intentional to get a very young team some confidence until they were comfortable with the college game. They are going to be a tough out in March, even with them relying on 3 FROSH to essentially carry the mail. P.S. -- reminder, I detest Ohio St.
February 1, 200719 yr ....They are going to be a tough out in March, even with them relying on 3 FROSH to essentially carry the mail.....I agree and those Freshman, have played some very good competition in HS, plus summer programs and not, on the D1 level in a physical league. OSU must improve their defense, on guarding the perimeter shot but I wouldn't look forward to matching up with them, in a one and done situation.
