January 29, 200719 yr I just heard on espn where Bush will not appeal the decision/fine and he also is adding anther $5,000 to a fund with/about L. Smith and T. Dungee about asst. african american coaches (didn't hear all of it or what it is specifically about). Anyway, I hope that he is realizing what crap like that looks like. I still would love to see ALL players cut the dance/pointing/celebration acts and just play football. Imo it is ridiculous. Take the Barry Sanders (and others) approach..................when you score/get into the endzone, etc. - hand the ball to the official, go back to the sidelines. In other words, act like you have done it before and plan on doing it again in the near future. Exactly. ie: Barry Sanders, Tiki Barber, Walter Payton, Emmitt Smith, Jerry Rice.

January 29, 200719 yr I dont think it was that big of a deal, he immediately appologized after the game :thumb: I have yet to follow the logic of the NFL fines when it comes to celebrations. You can dance in the endzone after you score, talk smack/push other players all over the place, spike the ball after first downs, etc. with no punishment, yet get fined over a finger shake and flip into the endzone?? I am not supporting what Bush did, but it is certainly not near as bad as what some do with no fine.

January 29, 200719 yr In my opinion, one of the jobs of the NFL is to maintain the integrity of the game (not always uniform in their fines). That is why, IMO, sometimes the NFL levies fines when the officials do not see the incident as a penalty situation. The NFL has to maintain the atmosphere of NFL events, this is why the NFL has such stringent uniform policy. On a side note, I also think that there is a difference in taunting and entertaining, IMO. I think some things are seen as entertainment by most parties, like Chad Johnson's comments. And some things are seen as being derogatory to the league, such as TO's comments.

However, the refs saw Bush and let the call go. Man... he ran a 80 yard touchdown in the PLAYOFFS for a chance to go to the SUPERBOWL. AWESOME. :dancingpa (Act like he has been there??????????????????????) He hasn't been there...That was the first time in that situation. I thought it was great. Looked like fun. He should be excited. The dive was AWESOME. Pointing his finger was alittle unsportsmanlike...and Urlacher is great, Bush apologized. But, he's basically a kid enjoying the game with his dive...just don't taunt the other players. You might get some HOT SAUCE put on ya.
