Biggest Upsets 2024

Featured Replies

What games do you consider the biggest upsets this year?

To get things started, the one that comes to mind for me is:

2A Fort Campbell 41 over 4A Madisonville-North Hopkins 40

That game was probably projected to be a running clock win for MNH. Going into that game Fort Campbell was 0-3. MNH was 3-0 including a 34-6 win over Union County, who now sits at 7-2. I would like to hear how Fort Campbell pulled that upset win off.

What are some other big upsets this year?

I think you hit the nail on the head VoR. Especially considering MNH returned the bulk of their talent off a team that clocked Fort Campbell 56-7 the year prior.

This one doesn’t compare in it’s totality but several were predicting a walk in the park win over South Warren for Bowling Green. I didn’t agree with it, but quite a few on here indicated that thought process. It was a big upset win for the Spartans, snapping a three game skid against their rivals. Then again, how many times are you going to beat Brandon & Chuck Smith lead teams in a row before they get one back?

Here is another big upset:

North Laurel 24 Bell County 22

North Laurel is 3-6. That is the only loss of the year for 8-1 Bell County.

Last night, Central Hardin over Barren County? 1-7 over 7-1.

This is a small upset but there’s really not much difference between these two teams other than who they played.

Boyle County 38 Lakewood St. Edward 21

CAL’s 35-10 win over Manual.

Woodford County losing to South Oldham looks stranger and stranger. South Oldham losing to Collins, Madison Central losing to GRC, also some surprise for me.

But yes, it seems Madisonville falling to Fort Campbell was inexplicable.
