The Chargers travel to play Southern this week coming off a rough 4 week stretch.  The Chargers will win this Friday.  But it's been a tough season.  The Chargers came into the season with almost no experience on the offensive line and with each week they have seemed to have lost what experience they did have.  No excuses, everyone has injuries but the Chargers seem to have had about 4 or 5 seasons worth this year.  They lost probably their best two way player this past Friday night.  Nobody is feeling sorry for the Chargers, I'm well aware of that.  Plus a 6A school should have the next man up to step in.  But several of those "next men up" have also gone down.  Just one of those years.  Nothing to do but keep working hard.  I'm not posting a poll this week.  BE will win but they need to keep working hard.  Without a herculean effort against Male they will go into the Meade County game needing a win to make sure they have a winning record.  Plenty to keep playing for !! 

Bullitt East won 40-12 last year. I think both teams have taken a little bit of a step back this year, but I would anticipate the score of the game being fairly similar. Probably something like 36-6 or 40-12.

I would agree with that assessment.  BE was up 40-0 at half last year if I'm not mistaken.  Most starters were out early in the 2nd quarter and all starters were out by halftime.  I see something similar this year.  Southern is one of those JCPS programs that has almost zero coaching stability so it's hit and miss for them....and the last few years have been a miss. 

The next two weeks should be opposite ends of the spectrum for BE against Southern and then against Male.  Like BEChargers stated and I've said prior as well, the Meade County game is shaping up to be a pivotal game for the BE program in general.  It might very well determine if BE has a winning record or not.  They'll be traveling to either Oldham County or Ballard for a 1st round playoff game and although both are winnable, I'm not sure they actually will.

Have to think this is the week the Chargers get back on track. Has been a rough going for them recently. The Fern Creek loss was especially surprising to me.
