What an exciting matchup between a couple of long time district foes. The Raiders have been victorious in the past two meetings but the Patriots had a three game winning streak prior to those losses. Year in and year out this is usually a very physical and competitive football game, I expect nothing less than that this Friday night as well.

The Raiders will be traveling down highway 231 boasting a 5-1 record and looking for an opportunity to host a home playoff game. Could they possibly give the Blue Tornado a run as the district winner? Probably not, but if they want to it starts with a win against the Patriots. Dane Parsley was sensational against Hopkinsville in their win this past Saturday tossing four TD's and rushing for 151 yards and two more scores on the ground, and if you thought I was done, no, he also led the team in tackles with 13. First time this year we've really seen Parsley take majority of the touches in the rushing department although he is fully capable of taking over a game when given the opportunity. Brayden Lightfoot had four catches for 133 and two TD's receiving, the JR wideout has shown flashes all season but I do believe that was the most comfortable he looked on the field all year and that's a great thing considering we're creeping into postseason football. The defense let up 499 yards (301 rush,198 pass), but they were able to take advantage of a couple of blunders from Hopkinsville that essentially propelled them to victory. The Raiders coaching staff has to be concerned with the struggles on that side of the ball with how well the Patriots can get in done on the ground.

Allen County-Scottsville, the atmosphere on what will be a beautiful Friday evening will be one of the best environments across the state this week, a lot of pride in being a Patriot and I've always had a lot of respect for what the Hood family has done with that program. They are 5-1 with their lone loss coming last week in the rain to the Blue Tornado, I'd assume PT fans, players and coaches tipped their cap to the physicality and heart their opponents possessed. Chase Ross has been the catalyst to the success this season rushing for eight TD's and catching three more, their QB Braylon Adams has tossed ten TD's and has ran for six as well. The Patriots offense is 70% run to the 30% pass, which is getting back what has been successful for this team, had some years of late where I felt as though they were trying to throw the ball to much instead of utilizing their size in the trenches. Outside of last week the defense has been solid but will face another very difficult task in trying to slow down this high rolling Raiders offense.

I figure this will be a shootout, much like every game the Raiders have played this season, not usually a way to find success but they're 5-1 so what do I know. Warren East will have to rely on Parsley to have another outstanding performance if they want to go on the road and take this win, but one has to wonder how much he has in the tank. Want to point out in their 60-52 loss to Barren County by the 4Q Parsley wasn't even able to take the field on defense, that also happened to be the same quarter the Trojans scored four TD's, coincidence? I think not. ACS will have to chip away and keep fighting for all four quarters, they may go down early with how explosive the Raiders can be but it's a long game and essentially a one man wrecking crew on the other side. Make somebody else other than #1 beat and you have a good chance of winning this game. Making the game as short as possible and keeping the Raiders offense off the field seems like way to go but with a few key players having to go both ways it may be more beneficial to get in the shootout if your defense is completely incapable of slowing it down. Good luck to both teams!

Game will be streamed on the link below.    https://youtube.com/@acspatriotathletics8590?feature=shared

  • Warren East 16 ACS 7 Halftime.  Thoughts:  East is honestly manhandling the Patriots right now. They have zero movement up front and it is causing their offense to sputter big time

  • I'm in the 2 camp! Lot of game left though.

I think WE is in trouble in this game ACS will run all over them on offense of course WE will score some points but they will not be able to stop ACS. I’m going ACS 56-35.

I’ll take Warren East by a very slim margin and that’s simply due to having the best player on the field at all times. In any situation he becomes limited or East turns the ball over a time or two then I think the Patriots pull away.

WE 34 ACS 32

This game could determine who the 2 seed is in 4A district 1 going to be a really good game between these two here. I think Allen County will pull it off but it will be a very close game.

I'm pulling for the Raiders, but I think the Scotties are too much here.

East does have the best player, but feel he gets tired later in the game and that's when ACS adds a couple more TDs.

8-7 Warren East

11:15 2Q

With 22 seconds in the half on 4th Down, Parsley completes about a 40 yard bomb TD to Lightfoot.

2pt successful.

WE 16-7 almost half

East is dominating in the trenches right now. Allen County-Scottsville has squandered several opportunities, while East has made good each time they got inside the 40 or so.

Warren East 16

ACS 7

Halftime.

Thoughts:

East is honestly manhandling the Patriots right now. They have zero movement up front and it is causing their offense to sputter big time. We will see if they can adjust and rise to the occasion in the second half.

Parsley is being, well, Parsley. Two long passing TDs already and several solid run plays to extend drives.

ACS punted first possession of 2H

East now driving again running it right at ACS.

Parsley just broke about a 50 yard run for a TD on 3&6

2 pt conversion good

Warren East 24

ACS 7

8:32 3Q

ACS has life!

Big pass play for TD to cut in to the deficit.
2pt good!

24-15 WE

8:16 3Q
