Very disrespectful from Hart County for letting this happen... I am very disappointed with the final score

I knew there would be complaints about the score.A few facts-10 people scored for Hart Co. ranging from a low of 5 points to a high of 18.Six girls scored in double figures. The scoring was pretty well distributed so obviously no one person was left in and/or desiginated to score a"ton" of points. On the other hand the halftime score was "only" 43-7 which means the second half was 69-4 including 37-2 in the last quarter.I would like to get the thoughts of someone who was actually at the game.

If nothing else the Hart Co. coach could have told her girls NOT to score the last basket regardlless of who was playing. Lapping a team is about as bush as it gets.

How long were the starters left in? I am hoping that the coach took his starters out by the end of the 1st quater and they didn't see the court any more.

That should be embarrassing for Hart. Was this a matter of padding stats. 10 players scored? How many were on the team? If there were more than ten the coach should have told the team to run thier plays completely through and let the people who haven't scored shoot. I hope after halftime they didn't run fast breaks and layup BH to death. Someone who was there please tell what happened, because this is ridiculous.

I agree completely.

For what its worth, Beth Haven is only averaging 18 points per game. They have some other terrible losses this year. The following is their schedule to this point. Perhaps Hart County wasn't running it up?

Nov. 27 - Whitefield Academy - 69-10 (L)

Nov. 28 - Pleasure Ridge Park - 63-7 (L)

Dec. 1 - Brown - 15-7 (L)

Dec. 2 - Louisville Holy Cross - 68-3 (L)

Dec. 9 - St. Francis - 52-28 (L)

Dec. 11 - Kentucky Country Day - 66-12 (L)

Dec. 12 - Western - 73-13 (L)

Dec. 15 - Evangel Christian - 38-27 (L)

Jan. 6 - Valley - 77-29 (L)

Jan. 15 - Kentucky Country Day - 65-13 (L)

Jan. 18 - Portland Christian - 49-31 (L)

Jan. 23 - Portland Christian - 36-31 (L)

Jan. 25 - St. Francis - 42-35 (L)

Jan. 27 - Hart County - 112-11 (L)

I don't have a dog in this fight; but when the margin of victory is over 100 points; it would indicate running up the score. Every other team that had played Beth Haven had scored 77 points or fewer.

This is a team (Hart County) that won a game earlier in the season something like 115-30.

These games are no win situations for the better team. If your team is awful, then do not schedule teams who will beat you this badly. I wasn't there and don't know anyone who was, so it is impossible for me to judge how bad it really was.

As for not taking layups, etc...at what point does Beth Haven start rotating at least one or maybe even two players back to see that those breakaways don't happen? The younger kids work hard in practice everyday and it is not fair to tell them to play but try not to score.

Scheduling is a coach's responsibility. I am sure these coaches knew this outcome could occur when the game was scheduled. The losing coach should get just as much heat as the winning one.

So your saying it is okay to beat someone 101 points for the sake of the younger kids getting to score? Let them score in JV games then. When you know you are going to blow out a team, there is a way of keeping it respectable. Other good teams beat them with the largest margin being 65 points. I'm sure the BH coach knew he would get beaten badly but I would bet if he knew Hart would run the score up (there is no other way of putting it in a 101 pt. win) he would have pulled that game. I fully understand that "younger" players want to score when they get to play varsity but that is no excuse in a margin like this. I would love to see a roster for the teams to see grade levels here. I wonder if BH's roster would even match up to Hart's freshman team? I'm just an outsider looking in, but that score speaks volumes.

BTW, I'm sure BH's team works hard everyday in practice too.

I wasn't there so I can't judge what happened. Here is what I do know...it is a coach's job to make his team better and see that they play hard. It is not his job to see that the game is kept close for the other team. That would be the opposing team's coach's job.

Unless it is a district game, a coach can control this with their scheduling. Truth be told, we have already spent more time discussing this than the Beth Haven players and coaches have.

Tournament time will be here soon...let's start looking forward to that!!!

Sometimes scheduling CANNOT avoid these games due to teams either being in your conference or district. I for one do not know if either of these scenarios is true for these two teams.

Heres the most ironic part Hart isn't even a very good team there 9-11 and at the middle to bottom part of there region. So that makes you even more suspicious on running up the score cause there not that good of a team themselves its not like they just couldn't help it cause there a top 25 team.Maybe beating a helpless team like this makes harts coach's think there a better team then they are.

CHS, I'm just saying you can show a little class and respect to an obviously struggling program. We are not talking 25, 50, 75 point margin. 101 point margin is IMO a very classless coaching move.

I have seen this happen in other games, in other regions, where a team could beat the opposing team by 100 if they wanted. I guess those coaches just wanted to show some (cough, cough) class.
