Henderson Co rolls into Mayfield to play the Cardinals at War Memorial Stadium this week, and the big question is will they have Davis back at quarterback for this game. He did not play against Owensboro Catholic last Friday.

The run-oriented Colonels did not put up much of a fight as they lost to the Aces 28-2. They had 247 yards of total offense.

Meanwhile, Mayfield went on the road and defeated McCracken Co 35-21. Josiah England carried the ball for 249 yards for the Cardinals, and has proven to be a weapon on the ground. So which defense will be able to stop the run? Can either team open up a passing attack? Tell us what you think.

I look for the Cardinals to win this one by three touchdowns in a game that will be a little closer than the score. Henderson County actually held the Aces to 32 yards on 20 carries, but that's not stopping Atwell. The kid is amazing. 

    Davis will not play Friday. I think the earliest they plan on him being back is the eleventh of October against McCracken. Davis' replacement showed some flashes,but as one would expect, HC's offense struggled. The Colonels were inside Catholic's ten yard line three times and did not score, two turnovers and got held on downs on the other possession. The Colonels probably didn't have fifty yards total offense in the first half, but did get the running game going a little in the second. 

  It was a very physical game,and both teams were "laying the wood" throughout. 

Henderson County's kids play hard and they are physical, but they do not have the size that you usually see from Colonel teams, I believe that will be their downfall against the Cards.

Trying to build that RPI in 6A so they don’t have to go play Trinity in the 3rd round. Also, they are in a district with Christian, Daviess, and McCracken, and I don’t believe any of those will be close, at least the Colonels are getting to see some good competition before the October snooze fest.

I would have thought Mayfield would rather have played tonight because they throw the ball a lot more then Henderson.
