The Aces of Owensboro Catholic (4-0) travel to Henderson County (2-2) in a 2A versus 6A matchup. Last year this was a 41-21 Aces win with Brady Atwell throwing for 446 yards and 5 touchdown passes. Vince Carrico had 23 tackles.

In week 4, Owensboro Catholic beat rival Owensboro by 12 behind another amazing performance by Atwell, both by air and ground. Henderson County, on the other hand, suffered a blowout loss to Paducah Tilghman 48 to 10.

This could get ugly early. Owensboro Catholic's offense is formidable and multi-faceted. Owensboro exposed some defensive weaknesses and they are certainly thinner on that side of the ball than offense. However, their defense has been good enough to only allow 37 points through their first 3 games before they hosted Owensboro.

Don't let the Tilghman and Henderson score fool you, they are better than you may think. They are big and fast and their play calling was on point.

Tilghman was just a step ahead on several occasions that allowed them to score and also stop Hendo from scoring. I was impressed by several of their players.

Will Henderson win? I'm not sure if they do, but I also think there is a scenario where the Colonels make this a ball game.

Man for man, I think Hendo can hang with O-Cath, with the exception of Atwell and possibly Crowe. I think they keep the Colonels at arm's length, but I can see Hendo putting up some points.

On a side note, Henderson County is facing the #1 scoring offense in the state a week after playing #2. A bye week would be well deserved, but the Colonels get Mayfield at War Memorial next week before finally getting to take a breather.

Headed to Henderson for Aces/Colonels matchup. Class of '80 Colonel here, but my wife went Catholic,as well as my oldest son and my daughter attends Jr high there now.

Just hoping the Colonels can make a game of it. Catholic had 500 yards plus last week against OHS.

I heard that Henderson’s Qb was injured in the PT game last week. Any truth to this?

And OCath lost two defensive starters to injury in the OHS game. Any word on any of this.

I’ve heard Hendersons QB is out also. If true give me OC by 4 scores or more.
