Congrats to Rebels on a great win, I always like the KY teams to beat the great Ohio teams. You might want to pump the brakes.Three games in and your talking national championship?

Just as a reference, check the Highlands schedule from 2009. They beat several Ohio  teams  including St. X (0H) who was ranked in the top five in the nation along with Highlands.  Again congrats on your great win.

Just wanted to say I’m incredibly proud of Kentucky’s representation the past couple years. Would love to see Boyle play and beat a big boy from Cali or Texas. If St. Edward wins a state title this year it will be an even better victory. I remember when Cov Cath beat LaSalle in 2019, an undoubtedly terrific win, but made even sweeter after LaSalle went on that year to win a state title.

Don’t forget about last year when Woodford County defeated one of the upper echelon teams out of LA, Warren; that victory was an astronomical upset according to the models. Perhaps they can catch lightning in a bottle again this Friday, but that’s a tall order.

Boyle County absolutely deserves their national ranking, but I’m not sure how they would get to a national title. I believe some publications awarded 2011 Trinity with that distinction, but they thoroughly trounced an inconceivably tough schedule.

does Boyle have any chance to win a National Championship?

In short, no.

The hyperbole flying around after this game is pretty unexpected if I'm being honest, and a bit beneath Boyle County too, in my opinion.

That's not true, I'm lots of fun.

But I'm realistic.

Is that right?  This is what you said about the Boyle/St E game:

This will not be close, but that’s not necessarily an indictment on Boyle County.

And?

That was a realistic expectation based on the information we had at the time.

To each their own.

Fun could/should be celebrating a great win over a nationally ranked team and focusing on another State Title, rather than fantasizing about something that's not going to happen.

You didn't think Boyle had a chance before the game and you don't want to give the Rebels their props now.

I haven't looked at the math behind any national ranking system but there has to be a strength of schedule component. Boyle's schedule has already peaked. There should be no path forward that leads to a national title.  No disrespect to Boyle County is intended. I'm very proud of what they did last week and wish them the best of luck going forward.
