This is the first time I can remember any Olympian being "Named" MVP of a team event. Is this common or some convoluted award just invented for James?

LeBron was the most consistent player through group play and the tournament, but Steph delivered when it mattered.

I've never heard of the MVP award in basketball until this year.

Last week was peak LeBron and I was thinking of you. Against Brazil he "miraculously" came back onto the court from his head injury, but around the same time, Leon Marchand entered the arena. The crowd started cheering "Le-On." In true LeBron fashion, he thought they were paying him homage and decided to crown himself for the fans.

He's the worst. 

He didn't contribute a single point in the comeback against Serbia, but of course he bulldozered his way to the rim to actually tie the game and then flexed like he had done something. 

Was reading today that, unless they find a legit governing body in the next 6 months, boxing will be absent from the 2028 games.  Boxing was been a laughingstock of corruption for a long time.  It IOC took control away from the IBA because of it and is prepared to drop it from the games.

I feel like nearly all of the "Judged" events have a level of corruption to them. Some times it's blatant as in boxing several times over the years. 

Other than gymnastics we pay little attention to the other judged sports. Time it, measure it or score and I'm all in during the Olympic.

Agreed. I don't take anything that is judged seriously in the Olympics.
