2-0 Tigers in the top of the 4th.   They've entered a rain delay.

Baseball on a day to day basis is the most unpredictable sport there is.

I thought Marte would struggle to get his hitting rhythm back, but I thought he would be a nice upgrade at 3B. Hoewver, he has struggled defensively perhaps more than offensively.

You’re being kind saying he has struggled in the field, he has played 10 games and made 5 errors and has been saved at least 2 more errors by the first baseman coming off the bag to get bad throws and making tags, absolutely brutal!!! Wonder if any of the coaches have talked to him about catching and focusing on the first baseman and quit looking to see where the runner is because he does it almost every time!

I turned it on in the 6th inning and turned it off in the 8th. Absolutely disgusting to watch the bullpen blow another lead for Hunter Green. That was terrible.

Agreed

first time in 4 starts Reds have scored a run while Greene has still been in the game!

The Reds inability to score runs for Greene probably indirectly cost him an All-Star spot.

Agree. Marte needs to catch and throw. Stop patting the glove with the ball then throwing. Stop looking at runner and thinking. Just catch and throw.

He's now played a total of 39 games (35 starts) at third base, and made 10 errors.  He has an .890 fielding percentage there.  That isn't brutal, that's historically bad.  That's a 40 error pace.  No third baseman has made 40 in a season since Butch Hobson in 1978.

Perhaps Marte needs to go back on the juice.
