Lakers job is more trash than not until King Flop leaves!

The whole thing seemed fishy to me. I believe it was a ploy to get Hurley more money. Still sticking with the original reports it is Redick's job and they're still negotiating. Who knows?

Better to stay at UConn and win than go coach LeBron and get fired in 2 years because the inmates run the asylum.

Keep in mind Hurley has not signed an extension at UConn. He didn’t turn down the Lakers job, he turned down “6 years and $70 million.” Right now he’s at just over $5 million a year. That’s Mark Pope territory.

Seriously, huge win for college basketball. Hurley is the man and college hoops needs all the positive press it can get. Maybe the Knicks will lure him away once Thibs runs his squad into the ground a couple more seasons.

Right.

But he seems like the type of guy that wants to do things "his way".  And that is not what happens in the NBA, especially with an LBJ team.

The Lakers at this point should just ask the NBA for a waiver so LBJ can be "player/coach".  But in that scenario who would he blame for the teams shortcomings.  LOL

He turned down coaching LeBron, which he should have. 

He'll get his extension at UConn and will likely be in the same salary range with none of the LeBron headache.

LeBron throws teammates under the bus left and right, so that is where it would start. Most likely with Bronny.

As I said six weeks ago, I can't wait for his podcast co-host to be named the new head coach of the Lakers.

The Lake Show can spin it however, but conducting a five-plus week coaching search is not ideal leading up to the draft and the main reason it feels like it is Redick's job to lose. The Cavs, too, are without a coach, but Bickerstaff was not let go until a couple of weeks ago.

Hiring JJ Redick would be a bad look on the Laker's organization, IMO.
