Update April 18 2025 - Field lighting going into place.  Field drainage close to complete and first layer of field media being applied.  Concrete walkway around the track in progress.

Post hole forms are being place for fencing around the right turn.

As I look through the pictures, it looks like they completely changed the footprint and orientation of the complex. Did they turn the field/track 90 degrees? New building and entrance is going to be where the old lower parking lot was? Am I right on that?

I thought the buildig was going to be by the current press box/concession stand.

It doesn't look that way to me in the pictures posted. Look at the last picture posted above. Isn't that the old concession building on the hillside in the background behind the new building?

I also kept wondering as I looked at the pics why they need those retaining walls for the turns on the track when I don't remember any need for them on the old track. But if you turn the track 90 degrees you would probably have to cut into the hillsides of the bowl to fit the track in.

The field has been moved back and turned 90 degrees.  Going to be a real nice complex.

Just within the radius of Bellevue, Dayton, Newport, Highlands and NewCath, is it just a coincidence with the field upgrades/construction? Whatever it is it’s long overdue.

Yes,  they moved the field to the far back on the property and change the orientation.   They had to build a retaining wall to support the field.   The field was raised 4 feet higher than the old field.

By raising the field and pushing it back will allow for more parking in front of the new facility.

The drive into the facility was changed, so now you will have a more straight drive to the parking area.  The old right turn the left turn is gone.

Update May 5, 2025 - Work continues on the building, the metal roof deck is being installed.  The first base for the field has been applied and field events for track are being added.  

 

 

The below picture shows how the road going into the facility was changed.

Yes,  they are behind.  However they hope to get the track paving started within the next two weeks.  Then they will start on the field turf.  Hope to get the soccer teams on the in time for start of practice.   Hoping for less rain.

One Project that was started today was the installation of the stands.  They delivered the material yesterday.  Will be interesting to see how stands build progresses.

Update May 8, 2025 - Progress on assembly of the stands.  Concrete work on the field events

Facility is progressing and the work on the parking area has started back up.

Update May 17, 2025 - Track field event concrete work close to complete.  Track surface being prepared for first pavement. Stands are getting close to complete.  Outer building surface being prepared for new brick.
