When a school has a full time AD, does that mean they work 40 hours a week or is a full time AD just someone who is in the office 5 days a week? The Grant County AD, I am almost positive, is in the building 5 days a week, would that not make him full time?

AD does not work in building and can’t be reached until after 4pm.  He works a full time job and comes to school for the part time AD position. His position pays a tiny stipend for the amount of work involved.

  • Good luck coach Tyler Jones. 2 years of coaching experience(one Frosh/one middle).  Every coach has to start somewhere to get that experience. There will be a learning curve for sure and it will take

  • If the AD doesn’t want basketball to do well then what sport(s) does he want to do well? The district has money to do things. In general it looks like athletic decisions (as far as money) hasn’t

I'm not sure who the other candidates were but I'm sure he was probably the best choice. The guy knows basketball and if he's given the support from fans and the administration, he should do fine. Be

It doesn’t matter if your title says full time or not any AD (and pretty much every HC at least) is working 40 hours a week just about. Of course that changes some with coaches out of season.

When an AD is full time position it is similar to an admin position. Things are handle probably differently overall when there is that type of setup.

There may or may not of been very many applicants for the position. In general there aren’t as many people going into or staying in coaching. Coaching where you’re from and/or played can always be a tossup. Hopefully Jones is supported and he grows with the position

One was an assistant coach from a district rival. The other I don’t know as many specifics about, but I was told he was an assistant with a couple successful HS programs across the state.

Candidates were Nathan browning, and Noah Robinson..

I would hire both of them over Jones.. Browning established coach, and Robinson learned under Trent Steiner. Darrin Robinson’s boy.

Browning had already accepted the job at Conner well before interviews occurred at GC. That’s not who the second person was. Robinson was the other though.

I'd rather have Tyler over Noah Robinson. If it was down to those 2, then GC made the right call going for Jones.

That is not even close to enough time for an AD job.
