Hadn't realized until now that's where Mayer is. If the raiders do roll with both, man that's a headache for defenses. They could line up in the power I formation and have it be the same as running 4 wide at times.

The Bengals selected Jermaine Burton, WR Alabama in Round 3 - Pick 16 (80)

Burton was a player who was in my initial top 100 list but fell out after some teams indicated that he might need time to learn how to be a pro. But the traits and skill are there to be a surprise performer for a Bengals team that might have to move on from Tee Higgins eventually. With the 97th pick the Bengals selected McKinnley Jackson, a 6' 1/2" 326 pound DT.

Squatty interior defender who felt somewhat miscast as a 0-technique nose over the center. Jackson is explosive off the snap with the ability to get into blockers quickly or to attack their edges as a penetrator. He tends to ride on blocks once they land squarely and needs to develop his hands for better counters as both a run defender and a rusher. Jackson plays with good strength, but he's more gradual than twitchy in his battles. He might be more consistently effective at a lighter weight and as a rotational nose in a one-gapping even front.

I thought it was bush league. 

Bengals getting good value on their picks so far, based on ratings. The WR is the best value rated about 30 picks higher than where the Bengals got him. No reaches for the Bengals in these picks.

I know it is an echo chamber but I love the enthusiasm in the Bengals' War Room after these selections are announced.

Roger Goodell stated on The Pat McAfee Show he ideally wants to go to the following schedule:
•2 preseason games
•18 regular season games

IN the 4th Round the Bengals picked TE Erick All of Iowa.  He was at Michigan for a long time and from Fairfield, Ohio.

NFL.com projected him 5th to 6th Round draft pick.

 

Strengths:

Agility and athleticism for an expanded route tree.

Capable of stretching the field with true West Coast routes.

Clean getting into breaks and bursts coming out of them.

Snaps off intermediate outs to open up throwing windows.

Good blend of elusiveness and toughness after the catch.

Willing to strike with some force as split-zone and lead blocker.

 

Weaknesses:

Suffered season-ending injuries in back-to-back seasons.

Played in just 10 games over the last two seasons.

Needs to become more physical to clear himself against handsy coverage.

Can make tough catches, but easy ones will slip by at times.

Below-average grit and sustain blocking at the point of attack.

I really liked the video I watched of him.  This draft pick/player all comes down to staying healthy/injuries.
