Started playing not to lose instead of to win got real tentative like @Old Rebelagainst the press.

Feeling bad for Trent Steiner tonight.  Many years of effort.  Would have liked to see him get this one.

Knew him from his years in the early 2000's at Lawrence Co.

Largest school in the region once again denied a trip to Rupp

Bears down 7 with 3 minutes left, started hitting shots and took the lead with 1:10 left. Well deserved trip to Rupp for the fighting Jason Burns’. First trip to State in the school’s history, including Taylorsville High School.

Cox is a great player. I also am a big fan of Steiner and wish he could have got one tonight.

Coach Steiner has been the head coach at SK since 2003-04.  He has taken the Pioneers to four regional championship games.

Yes he was the coach at Lawrence Co. from 2000-2002.

Specer County was runners-up to North Oldham in 2011 but beyond that they'd never really even been close. This is only the 14th region tournament in school history dating back to 1922 and only the eighth region tournament game the school has won (they beat Versailles and Finchville in 1926; Gallatin and North Oldham in 2011; South Oldham in 2019). This is the definition of "a long time coming."

Congrats to Coach Burns and Spencer County.  Well deserved and great competitors all season.  Good luck next week!
