January 23, 200719 yr One has nothing to do with the other. Dexter Manley couldn't legitamitly make it through college and he turned out to be a pretty good pro. I'm sure numerous other examples would come to mind as well. Give me your numerous examples and I'll give you several thousand examples. For example Marvin Stone.......
January 23, 200719 yr I think the article is garbage! If you are part of a championship team then you have pride in who you play for! Unless you are a moron on the Bengals team then you have to know that you are ruining the reputation of your franchise each time you chose to do something stupid! You have millions of dollars, by a limo and 1/2 the problems are gone. H@ll if I'm in the Bengals organization I'm running a 24 hours 7 days a week limo service for the players! Drugs is another story. That just goes down to knowing who you are drafting. Whoever is in charge of background checks in the organization needs to be fired pronto!

January 23, 200719 yr So how was the rep before Marvin? Because I like IAm, I will refrain from taking the opportunity to deride the WhoDey nation.
January 23, 200719 yr So how was the rep before Marvin? LOSERS not JAILBIRDS! It's not rocket science. The teams with the majority of success are getting quality teammates in their draft process. Look at the Colts, Pats etc. Prime example is this years Jets. They are passing on players like Lindell White even though the talent is much needed because he wasn't the quality guy they were looking for. To many red flags for them. If you like having a bunch of idiots representing your favorite team then that's your choice. Personally I'd rather have solid teammates that are focused more on winning a championships then getting high and driving drunk etc! It's all good if they like to go out and have fun but take a little responsibility for your actions! Especially when you are on the verge of being the next cast for THE LONGEST YARD!!

Will someone show me the red flags on Joseph when he was drafted. Thanks...
January 23, 200719 yr Again. Will someone show me the red flags on Joseph when he was drafted. Thanks... I'll be honest I don't know his background and neither does anybody else on here. At some point you have to start being accountable though! Every player on that team knows the image they have brought on themselves. They are going to have to get the attitude that if you think you are doing something wrong... then you are!

January 23, 200719 yr My thoughts on the matter are that we, as fans, condone this behavior, no matter what you say about it. We collectively celebrate a profession that rewards nothing but talent on the field. No need for education, no need for a clean background, just speed, strength and some natural ability. If you are complaining about Bengals organization, then you are complaining about the NFL as whole. You will go and cheer for people who make millions of dollars because they can make plays, but since that is the only criteria for a job, why do you comdemn them for their off field law stepping. With that said, what, as an organization, can possibly be done to stop this?

January 23, 200719 yr Another great article by PAUL DAUGHERTY as usual. I am not taking sides on this issue, I see both sides of the arguement. I would like to think that if I was a 22 year old multi-millionaire in the NFL I could at least act better than some of these guys have, but I am not sure. At the least not get caught doing these things in public, don't they ever stay home?
January 23, 200719 yr yeah Then how you going to sit there and say all that stuff when you are one of "them" that support the NFL.
