Hazard names Matt Chandler new head coach

Hazard has hired Franklin County OC Matt Chandler new head coach.

We would like to welcome the new Head Football Coach at Hazard High School, Matt Chandler. Coach Chandler was the Offensive Coordinator this past season at Franklin County High School in Frankfort, KY.  The Franklin County Flyers were 13-1 this past season losing to the eventual state 4A champion Boyle County Rebels.  There will be a reception and formal introduction for Coach Chandler tomorrow, January 29th at the Hazard High School Cafeteria at 4:30 pm. Local media outlets will be present to report Coach Chandlers hiring. Refreshments and Hors d'oeuvres will be served. Go Bulldogs!!!

I’d heard several names being tossed around before this announcement. I’m guessing they wanted to make sure they made the right hire. But Congrats to the new coach and hopefully he can get things turned around quick because they are loaded in the freshmen, and next couple of in coming classes.
