Fleming County 61 Mason County 58

Featured Replies

Final from Flemingsburg and the sectional championship round of the State 2A Tournament. Blake Reed was absent again for the Royals.

Had to feel good for Buddy Biggs to beat his old squad for the trip to the 2A state.

Talked to someone at the Lexington Catholic tournament who said he thought Fleming County was the best team in the 16th Region. Looks like 5-6 teams in the region have similar records. Would you agree that Fleming is the best or is there someone else?

Fleming County didn’t look great the last two days at Lexington Catholic.

The biggest question is why hasn’t Blake Reed played the last two games?

2nd biggest question is why you are prying about it so much.  You don’t know, we don’t know, let whatever it is be taken care of as it may.  It’s none of our business.  Only asking to try to stir the pot.

I'll agree that it's none of our business. But this is a sports talk forum and the prevailing story around a top 10th Region contender is, "why is their best player M.I.A.?

I think it's perfectly okay to be asking that question.

Fleming has the pieces to get to Rupp, but if the top contenders - Fleming included - in the 16th are firing on all cylinders, I'll take Boyd County as the favorite, followed by Ashland, then Fleming and Morgan. Rowan could get in the mix too, by February. There could be numerous twists and turns between now and Morehead.

The region tournament could turn out to be one of the better ones in recent memory.

As someone who covers the 10th Region, it’s only reasonable to question why the preseason best player in the region has not played the last two games because of a “coaches decision” and has been benched in other games.  He was on pace to become the states second all time leading scorer behind Travis Perry before the season started.  That’s a pretty big deal!

I hope for Coach Biggs’ sake they can get to Rupp.  Great person and great coach.

depends on which silly rumor you wanna go with... I'm sure you've heard them.

My gut says he's back in uniform on Tuesday night against Campbell County.
