Alas, this drama will come to an end one way or another sadly at Rose Hill and many of our neighbors (as Scooter refers to them as) will rejoice, yet somewhere in my feeble brain, I won't be too saddened either. Can't enjoy winning, can't handle losing! It's not that I wish any finality to anyone or any team for that matter. But the drama is at a fevered pitch. The only positive outcome is a regional title. Then folks will say "Well, they were supposed to win" and if they don't then there will be this type of babble back and forth between us experts as to the various reasons why. In the process, hurting players, coaches to what end? So, I wish the Lady Royals luck, but moreso, patience and thick skin!

Good luck again to the Lady Rams and coach Trimble and staff Sat. and beyond!!!

If you read my post really read it you will know what I think about someone who takes credit away from the win to blame it on other schools. I'm sorry one of your players fouled out last night. I know what the Maroon schools can do talk to the refs so they don't pick on anyone now that you know what we have been doing all season.

 

Could you edit your post with some commas or something cause it isn't making much sense. Not saying i am the best with grammer and spelling but I don't fully get what your intentions are. NEVER once have I taken credit from Raceland!!! They fully deserve it. They played harder last night. Maybe you should go back and reread the posts I made. I NEVER blamed the Maroon schools either for a terrible defensive effort by RH. Just the cheap calls that BF gets compared to the ones I don't see other PG's get is starting to be a little absurd.

Nevertheless Britt is TARGETED, she built a reputation for herself when she was ejected from the 16th Regional Tournament as a freshman @ Russell, I do believe she has gotten better but I'm afraid her foul prone and T's will follow her because of her past! It just happens ref's are human and some have quicker T's than others. If the Roayals are to be really successful she has to keep her head and stay on the floor!

 

This is really what I was trying to say...Thanks Blazer!!...I was not trying to be negative...Actually, it probably started before that tourney game but nevertheless the same attention was paid to Britt at Russell as it is now...My point being, it has nothing to do with her leaving Russell & everything to do with the way she plays the game...Fair or not that may certainly draw extra attention to her from referees...There was a boy from Lawrence Co a few years back that lead the region in technicals...It is possible that the refs had a shorter tolerance with him than other players due to his history...This may be the case with Britt as well...

 

A friend of mine always used to tell me after they played us that we got "Kala calls"...What he was referring to was he thought Kala got superstar treatment similar to Michael Jordan...I always told him he was "full of it" when he said that...I said that she is really good at drawing contact and making you foul her...She certainly had an outstanding season last year...If the "conspiracy theory" were true, don't you think the refs would have targeted her as well?? Maybe you think they did however, that same friend told me after watching the Lady Royals several times last year that she was still getting her "Kala Calls"...

 

Believe it or not I used to be a little ornery when I was young...:scared: I reached a point in my personal maturity where I got tired of feeling targeted because it appeared to me that others got away with things that I couldn't...Was it fair?? I don't know but it taught me a valuable lesson... I learned that I had to work twice as hard to change my reputation as I did to earn it...Maybe that's not fair but it is reality...Life is about choices...I made a choice to change my reputation...It didn't happen overnight & some may still have thought of me in the same way even after changing my actions but, had I continued doing the same things I did while earning the ornery reputation, it wouldn't have changed in anyone's eyes...

hmmmm, digesting.........some of your post I agree with some I don't, but that's okay. I really like the part that I bolded. It even motivated me a little.

How big was the play of Brooke Keeton for the Lady Rams. She had some big baskets down the stretch and remember she is only a Freshman. With her and Vanderhoof for the next few years the Lady Rams will be a team to deal with night in and night out in the 16th Region!

There has been so much dialogue on this thread that I may have missed some info on Miss Vanderhoof's condition. Can anyone give an update on her. It would be a shame for her not to be able to play in the championship game after playing so great in the semi-final.

First, congratulations to Raceland. You don't beat a team with two legitimate All-State players on it without playing great defense, and team basketball. Every girl that stepped on the floor for Raceland deserves a "high five" - especially the Porter twins that defended Terry and Queen.

This reminds me of those guys that play basketball at the YMCA and never call the score. Then, late in the game, they want to challenge whoever is calling the score on every trip down. You know - one guy has been keeping score and late in the game, after a made basket, he says "22-18", and the guy who hasn't said a word looks at him and says - "Oh yeah? Name 'em"...

The intentional foul call at about 1 minute left in the game had a dramatic effect on the outcome. Raceland got two free throws and then the ball back and scored. I have seen a lot of basketball games, the manner of Terry's foul was consistent with every late game foul I have seen to stop the clock and send the other team to the foul line. It was not an aggressive foul. Tommy Sparks is the worst official in the state. Don't get onto me I have told him that to his face.

Everyone who has some orange in there blood needs to come out and cheer theses girls on tonite.. Should be a great environment at the Palace with the Lady Rams and Rams in the Finals
