You are right about the Ref's not costing RH the game but the cold harsh reality of the truth is this...Brit Faulkner is a target, call it conspiracy or call it a joke, she gets hammered by calls that the officials do not make on anyone else, and it only happens in this region. I am not defending her as a person or a baller, all that I am saying what happened two-three years ago At another school that is very political...Ashla I mean Russe well they are both alike) is still haunting her. It is not right and it is not fair to her, RH and the 16th Regional fans to see her sit b/c of phanthom fouls being called on her. If she would let a stink in the Locker room at half time there would be some ref there to blow the whistle and call an Intentional Blatant passing of Gas Foul. If she fouls then blow the whistle but they anticipate her every move, she is a kid, give her a break. What goes around comes around. They called her for carrying the ball last night and she over re-acted and was assessed a Technical Foul (She deserved the T for running her mouth) but my goodness look at all the other players from RH and Raceland that carried the ball when they dribbled, not to pick on Seals but she carried 3-4 times in the open court and nothing was called. You are right that the Ref's didnt cost RH the game but they sure didnt call it both ways either. Some think that this is just in the minds of RH'ers but when RH plays out of this Region the calls are very different. Gearheart is probably the best Ref we have, that being said, the other male Refs ought to stand up and take notice and learn from the Ex-West Carter Phenom. This is FP (frustrated Post) so deal with it or have the Ref Frat club that meets between Fairview and Raceland blow some more phanthom calls against Faulkner

Britt had the same foul troubles when she was at Russell...Her foul troubles traveled with her when she transferred...Your conspiracy theory is crap!!!

...If any group of kids deserve a shot to play at Richmond it sure is these senior girls!

I have said that both privately and...I think...publicly on these pages. However, allow me to repeat it. The Lady Rams are doing what the Rose Hill kids did last year...experiencing a dream, accomplishing a long sought after goal and creating memories that will last them a lifetime...and I commend them for their wonderful execution of a smart game plan, for the way they conducted themselves both during and after the game and for being such worthy opponents.

The small school tournament is a first class event and you will love the time you spend there. Enjoy...and best wishes.

Now...let's hope that Coaches Cantrell and Romer don't spoil it for you guys...and make us all look silly in the process. No disrespect to them and the very fine job they have done at Elliott County, but Lady Rams...I think the All A Regional is yours to lose. I hope you get it done!!

Please, please...we were just about to enter the lovefest portion of this thread.;)

(...just kidding, Lady Rams...I meant every word I said earlier!!:thumb: )

I was an avid Lady Devils fan when the Faulkner girls played at Russell and NO way did she get those calls back then like she does now. Did she foul when she played at Russell? sure she did but she didnt get phanthom calls against her. You should do your research more thoroughly before injecting your crap on this thread. Get the Telephone Pole out of your own eye before trying to get a toothpick out of someone else'. Half of the time you Russell Know It alls wouldnt even play her, bottom line is that she takes a stand for what she believes in, we know what really happened, Your little Utopia will one day crumble and fall apart. So dont post what you really dont know nothing about.

devil58, once again I must apologize for my recent post, you may be absolutely right, and you have the right to post anything you choose to post. I hope you accept my apology

You left out the most important player from last year...uhhh she is playing at Louisville...Kala Faulkner

I did not "leave" her out. Anyone that watched RH last year knows that she was a vital part of the team (possibly even the glue that made it all work). I did not think that she even needed to be mentioned. I was stressing that Yates and Spradlin, while not possibly considered high profile players are missed very much this year.

How right you are. They were very significant players on RH's Team last year. I was simply educating others might have forgot about Kala, not you IF, I appreciate your comments.

Queen: 18 pts, 8/12 shooting (all inside the arc), 2/4 free throws, 13 rebs, 6 stls, 4 asts

Terry: 4 pts, 2/9 shooting (0/4 3ptrs), 0/2 free throws, 5 rebs, 1 stl, 4 asts

Faulkner: 13 pts, 6/15 shooting (1/2 3ptrs), 0 rebs, 5 stls, 4 asts

Adkins: 4 pts, 2/7 shooting (all inside the arc), 1 reb, 2 stls

Dundon: 10 pts, 5/15 shooting (all inside the arc), 5 rebs, 1 stl

Gambill: 2 pts, 0/3 shooting (0/1 3ptr), 1 reb

Congratulations to Raceland for executing a wonderful game plan. Raceland doubled up on Queen and Terry and invited Rose Hill to try and beat them with their younger players....which RHCS, mistakenly in my view, seemed content to try. Tonight's opponent was not...with all due respect to a hard-working group of young kids....Bath County. Tonight was not the time to take the ball out of the hands of the senior leadership.

Now, as to the Lady Royals.

In order for any team to be truly successful many things are required.

  1. Excitement and joy for the game being played
  2. A common team goal
  3. Harmony among the team members
  4. Respect for the coaching staff by the team
  5. Respect for the players by the coaches
  6. Distribution of talent among the players
  7. Competent and well prepared coaching staff
  8. Support of the team by the fans
  9. Support of the team by the school
  10. Leadership from the sidelines
  11. Leadership on the floor
  12. Trust in each of these places of leadership
  13. Team spirit and team respect
  14. Selflessness on the part of every member of the team
  15. Awareness that improvement is possible and desire to do so

I could continue this list until you all were tired of reading it, and you may be already.

In my opinion, some of these key components are lacking and have been lacking from this Lady Royals team. Sometimes an strength here compensates for a weakness there. Sometimes it doesn't. Until this group of young women and their leadership become a TEAM, they will be on a success rollercoaster. If true success is indeed the desire of this program, no one should be above self-examination and no-one should be above making some changes.

I truly wish all of these wonderful girls all the success that they deserve at this level and beyond, in basketball or anything and everything else that they do.

Great post and I agree 2cents.:thumb:

Bif, Bam, Zowie....Oh, Oooh, Ouch...you got me, Walrus. I obviously forgot to list Kaylyn's free throws (sorry, young lady)...but, trust me, they're on the stat sheet. You know, the stat sheet...that awful thing that I created that allowed my wife to take charge of stats and such at Rose Hill.

Keep it up, Kaylyn...and remember (you'll love this, Walrus)...you look just like a little Emmy out there on the floor!!:thumb:   :dancingpa ;):D

Keep it up and she is on her Miss Basketball.

Keep it up and she is on her Miss Basketball.

Did you intend to add a word or two there to complete the thought? Walrus...you are really on a roll this afternoon.

Also...empty your mailbox so you can receive my last PM (yes, fellow BGPers, Walrus and I have exchanged pleasantries via several PMs today).

Keep it up and she is on her Miss Basketball.

Please Explain so I can join in on the exciting action. In the words of a great american stand up citizen, "Cant we all just get along"

Did I miss a Kitten game at Raceland last night GottaRebound ? I'm reading about the game and you throw Russell and Ashland into the reasons Rose Hill lost the game.
