vs.

The Cathedral High School "Fighting Irish" from Indianapolis Indiana come down to Lexington to take on the Frederick Douglass Broncos at "The Farm" on Friday the kickoff is set for 7:00pm.

Cathedral is led by coach Bill Peebles who has been the coach at his alma mater since the 2018 season prior to that he was at Lawrence Central and Southport. Cathedral is 3-2 coming into the game and is the #7 ranked team in the state of Indiana, and the #5 ranked team in 6A. Their two losses were to the #3 and #6 ranked teams in the state. They are led on offense by senior QB Danny O'Neil who has threw for 705 yard and 10 touchdowns with an average of over 15 yards per-completion. O'Neil has also rushed 25 times for 162 yards. O'Neal's main target at receiver is Keith Long who has 18 catches for 250 yards and 3 touchdowns. On defense they are led by linebackers Oscar Kirch and Jake Lockhart. They have 36 tackles between them.

Frederick Douglass comes into this game coming off a tough 6-0 loss to a very good Corbin team on the road. Douglass is 2-2 coming into this one. It is only the 2nd time in program history that Douglass has been shutout. The other time was actually the first game in program history. They played Danville on the road on Aug. 19, 2017, and lost 36-0. The Bronco defense put up another excellent performance at Corbin, after their opening 45-6 loss at Hoban the Bronco defense has only allowed 20 points in the last 3 games. The offense is struggling to come around, they have scored 66 points in 4 games, but 43 of those were in the Tates Creek game. The Broncos will also be playing without one of the better players on defense in Zuri Madison the Arkansas commit who was ejected in the Corbin game as well as offensive lineman Jalen Johnson.

This is a huge challenge for the Broncos, but this is why they upgraded their schedule. Games like these will help prepare the Broncos for the 6A post season. The game will be available on the NFHS Network as well as the Gilcod Sports game of the week. I think below will be the link to the game on Gilcod. Do not hold me to that as I am not the most tech savvy person on here. lol It is listed on their website as their game of the week.

Cathedral wins big unless Douglass comes up with all-run/wildcat/option package.

This should be another close game for Frederick Douglass. I lean with a Cathedral win in a close one.

I just saw that starting QB for Cathedral Danny O'Neil is a University of Colorado commit.

Looks like two video of streams on this one:

He'll be throwing to a 6'7" tight end going to Miami (OH). Potential matchup problem for Douglass.

Missed opportunity there for Douglass. Had a look at a pick in Cathedral territory. Two plays later, O'Neal hits his receiver in a seam and he glides untouched for the touchdown.

7-0 Irish

10:42 in the 1Q

Cathedral scores on their first possessions a 55 yard touchdown pass by Colorado signee Danny O'Neal he through all 5 plays with only one incomplete pass that was almost a pick 6 but was not and now it is 7-0 Cathedral early in the first quarter.

Zuri Madison out tonight. Big loss for Douglass.

Douglass after a good kick return by Chenault the Broncos have a 3 and out on their first possession.

So is Jalen Johnson they were both ejected in the Corbin game.

Douglass defense gets a 3 and out on Cathedral's 2nd possession.

Cathedral punted back to Douglass, it was about a 70 yard punt.
