Male(1-0) will host Ballard (1-0) after defeating 5A Butler 48-0. Ballard will travel to Male after winning a tough game against 5A Southwestern 41-34.

Last year, Male won in the last seconds 24-20 in the 6A playoffs. Ballard's QB was in victory formation when the ball slipped his hands and rolled to Male's side and was scooped up for a score. In the regular season game Ballard won 12-7.

Both teams are top ten in 6A so should be a big crowd at Male.

Does Ballard avenge the bad snap or does Male make it 2-0?

I think this will be a low scoring game. I think Male's defense is really solid. If Ballard can contain Gainey and find a way to score some points, I like the Bruins in a tough one!

I don't see this one going to the wire like both games last year. And there's zero chance this game is as memorable as the playoff thriller. 

Even after one game, it's safe to say that Ballard's offense is way ahead of its defense. Southwestern - a good looking team, btw - put up 34 points and 400 yards on the Bruins. Nobody did that to them last year. Overbearing defense was their calling card.

The two games last year were razor close. I think Male gets some separation this week and wins by at least two scores.

But Male being at home is huge. It's a hostile environment.
